Let me tell you about true luxury.

Finally a news outlet has posted a point not mentioned elsewhere: people complain that many titles are indies or cross platform. They forget that there will be new indies and cross platform games coming out every month and people will ask themselves "why get this cross platform game on PC when I can get it on switch and play it anywhere." You're not simply getting the Switch for existing games you can get elsewhere but a unique way to play the ones that aren't out yet.

Just wanna say that even if they never release another game for the Switch, the investment was totally worth it just to play Breath of the Wild.

I have. It's bomberman, nothing more nothing less. I paid $15 for it and I'm happy with my purchase. Now idea how I'd feel if I'd paid $50... probably not as happy.

This is the view I have, I already bought Shovel Knight for the first time and will be getting Stardew Valley for the same reason.

Also curious about Bomberman. I hear it's bad. But is it bad just because it's lazy Konami or bad because they genuinely hosed up the core gameplay? Even a weak Bomberman title should still be good multiplayer times because the fundamentals are so strong.

What I'm curious about is why everyone thinks that if Nintendo fails it'll move onto publishing on other consoles/steam. Seems like if they fail they would just go full mobile.

Get $$$ from that whale market and then either continue doing that forever, or make another console.

The company's policies are set up in a way to not incur a huge loss when their products don't sell well. Which is why like every new console they have to catch up to demand. Or yea, just go full mobile cause that's where the real money is and you can make iOS apps with 10 bucks and a monkey.

I friended a few poeple from Miitomo (lol) and it doesn't seem to really do anything? I'm assuming I'd I had an online multiplayer game I could send them an invite to a party but there's no chat yet so eh.

If they'd just go bankrupt then a publisher that doesn't hate making money by giving consumers what they want could gobble up their IP rights.

I bought it and can confirm that it's bomberman.

Importantly my housemate and his girlfriend who both don't game nearly as much as I do were able to pick it up in about 5 minutes and had a great time playing.

Just one more thing!
I like Super Bomberman R from what I've played of it. However, the game has an issue where the controls feel laggy. Not in the way that it's unplayable but for example when kicking a bomb I feel like I have to press x a tile in advance to stop it where I mean to. Other than that the game is fine. It doesn't break any ground for the series but if you've played a Bomberman game before you know what you're signing up for. Would like if they patch that input issue though.

It's decent. If people don't like the gameplay it's less that they messed it up and more that the formula is archaic.

I'm choosing to read into it that the Switch port is a last minute thing that they are spending extra money to port over quickly in time to launch it simultaneously on all platforms.

There's enough reports of the Switch being easy to develop for and the developer kit being super cheap compared to other consoles that I can't really think of another good reason for the price difference beyond having to rush it.

They'd go full handheld before they go full mobile. Nintendo is still king of the handheld console, whose only competition stopped supporting the vita shortly after it's release.

It's understandable to think that phone games are killing nintendo's handhelds. But the mobile market only stole the casual tetris players from the gameboy days. People who want real games portably will keep buying handheld consoles to play them. Meaning you won't see pokemon on steam or ps4 for a long time, if ever.

This is why I'm convinced the switch won't fail. Worse comes to worse, the switch is the latest gameboy and it's a pretty loving awsome one at that. I honestly don't want to see another nintendo home console. Just make portables so I can play stuff like monster hunter and pokemon in hd.

I'm laughing at all you people who think Nintendo would publish games on Steam. They're like the poster child for Japanese developers who are terrified of PC users, who are universally scoundrels and pirates, completely across the board (their words, not mine).

Like, it's borderline miraculous that we've been getting all these Tecmo-Koei and Bandai games.

Let's all encourage Nintendo to get into the race-to-the-bottom that is steam. Surely they'll keep pumping out excellent titles once they have to sell them for a nickel.

So I exchanged my joycons. It was in fact snapping in the wrist straps the wrong way that make the joycons have a little wobble when in handheld mode. The new joycons have two distinct plastic bumps that on the old joycon, were completely obliterated by the wrist strap removal.

New joycons are indeed rock solid and very clearly is not imagination. Just hope these ones don't have desync issues

Rip to all the people who broke their joycons on day 1

sorry, i dont understand what youre trying to say. why would nintendo suddenly be forced to sell their games for less money on steam? almost every major publisher puts out games on steam for full price all the time. why would the quality of their games be decreased?

This is very presumptuous for me, a stupid newbie with a reg date of last week, to say, but if you want talk about how Nintendo should or shouldn't drop out of the console market and how they would or wouldn't succeed on Steam, or how they do or don't have billions of dollars and will be Rick and Morty for 1000 years, maybe do it somewhere else?

This is a Switch thread, not a catch-all Nintendo or gaming industry thread. Largely, those arguments are completely boring and rehashed talking points every single time and no one cares.
