Apparently EA was pretty hands off on the game and even asked if Bioware wanted to delay the game for a little while. The ONE TIME studio interference and over-control might've made a better game.

The female models are far more prevalent than the males, of which there is only 1, maybe 2 series of male-modeled androids in the game. But like I said, you find out one isn't gay in the story which is a big deal, it's the same as if everyone was straight and you realized one character was gay in a pretty heart wrenching way. Also there is nothing wrong with an army of lesbian robots

Edit: also yes Automata is extremely anime so if you don't like the medium you won't like the story but you would be hard pressed to find someone that doesn't like the combat.

I asume you can't just fix voice acting and animations outside of actually recording new lines, or making new animations, and changing the story would mean having to rework other assets.
