Breath of the Wild seems to be the best game ever made which I can't possibly justify buying because then I would have to fork over 370€ for a loving Switch that would most likely be a plastic brick in my home for the duration of its existence.

Snipperclips looked interesting from the demo but seriously lmfao that anyone is paying twenty bucks for it. You know the library is really bad when a twee indie game is what all the goons are obsessing over (see also: Pushmo). Plus, the first demo level was glitched for my wife and me so it took like 20 minutes of fine tuning for it to accept the shape.

Snake pass got a ton of attention on the switch thread. Poor guys are desparate for any scraps that might come their way. It's the nature of getting a console earlier I guess but it's funny to see posters hum and haw over shovelware while in other threads everyone else is like "too many loving good games atm plz help" as they try to pick between four potential GOTY contenders I'll still get a switch 2 whenever it comes out, or during holidays once the library has ramped up. But having a vita back in the day is as close to being starved for games as i care to be I remember how excited our pathetic little hearts would get when any indie was announced (to be released eight months down the line of course, despite having been on steam for over a year) KingSlime has a new favorite as of 19:49 on Mar 29, 2017 |

Also, despite everyones gushing praise there are very real annoyances to be had in the new Zelda game so if you wait three months youll probably have a more accurate representation of how good it actually is to your tastes. And seriously, there is like a 0% chance they dont release a revised version with a larger battery.

"This game is a lot of fun!" "Ugh people going for scraps, how pathetic" "No but like I'm enjoying this game and I'm glad I bought it" "Whatever enjoy your failure" Frankly I'm happy to get a game that isn't yet another 60 hour open world game. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying many of the games that have come out this season, but I'm turning down many games because they're another follow-the-sidequest-list open world game with RPG elements.

"consoles always have lovely libraries during their first six months" =/= "haha your toy is a failure you dumb nerd" Frankly I like being able to choose from all sorts of different games, whether they be 60 hour RPGs or shovelware featuring snakes, which is why I always wait a few months to a year before getting a new console

I walked into work the other day and saw the biggest tablet charging on the counter. Took me a second to realize my friend brought his Switch to play Zelda. I remember laughing at that Nintendo teaser with people bringing the switch to parties and poo poo but up until then I hadn't really thought about bringing Zelda to loving work. If I didn't already have a wiiu and a 3ds I'd have already gotten a switch by now.

I work for a super chill tech giant atm and while we have the most relaxed environment I've ever worked at, there's no way in hell video games would be okay on the clock (though forum posting prob isn't encouraged either!) I did see a guy with a 3ds, but he was clearly trying to be sneaky about it

The 3DS launch was really, really bad. I had a 3DS reserved because at the time I was flying several times a week for work and handhelds make that wayyyy less painful. But...there just weren't really any games for it yet! Three of the biggest titles of the launch were a mediocre tactics spinoff of Ghost Recon, an awful port of Rayman 2, a PSOne game, and a glorified tech demo where you shot submarines. The Ambassador program did a lot to smooth that over, but it still leaves me wondering what they were thinking with that launch lineup. The Switch isn't really in the same position because even though it's lineup is similarly sparse, it has Breath of the Wild to carry it as a flagship first-party title for a while.

That and indie ports will help the lineup feel meatier than it really is. The novelty of playing your favorite indies on a new portable is a nice little distraction while you wait for bigger titles to drop. Source: was a hopeful vita owner who is now sad and jaded

It seems like such a no-brainer to me to make a console backwards-compatible, you get to launch with a built-in library. I guess on the flipside there won't be as much of an audience for HD remakes of beloved classics if people can just play the beloved classics whenever they want.
