Loon, Crazy and Laughable

The ubiquitous nature of the dogcatcher in old comics is something that I never really understood. It's always some grinning man who looks totally jazzed to steal dogs away and presumably to have them killed soon after.

I guess times have changed.

And not even just nabbing strays, but totally scooping them up while their owners, who are trying to catch the dog themselves, look on in horror.

Judging by how a lot of dog owners act, it's time for some regression. :argh:

A cramped cage, an empty waterdish and then it's Leipzig time. Oh and the dog gets a new home with more responsible and better owner(s).

Yeah, that's just another exhibit in my "Tina's Groove is underrated" argument: Rina Piccolo is so talented and versatile and still turns out a stylized humor strip that's well-crafted and, even if not funny every day, always on the mark in a way that doesn't feel fake or pandering.

Whereas this garbage ostensibly requires the efforts of two people, is consistently bad to the point of self-parody, and almost stubbornly resists the idea of growth or improvement.

I don't even know who this comic is for: it's completely devoid of any sort of pleasure, unless you count the people here laughing at it and imagining what it assumes are its audience-identification characters impaled on long stakes. It's amateurishly drawn and written and there's no reason to feel emotionally involved with it other than waiting for the inevitable "thanks for a great run" panel, which will inevitably depict, ineptly, a bunch of people midstep in front of a parking lot from the first ten Google Image Search results for ["parking lot" "royalty free"].

On preview: I'm glad y'all are coming around to Thimble Theater and I told you so and etc. Just wait. It gets even better!
