I understand we live in a country with a government and defence force and that war is bad. What is your actual point regarding the efficacy of yelling at a memorial?

I've already outlined it. My position is, if you're going to protest, you're going to offend some people. Your position is that people should only protest if they have a ten-point plan for the new regime, and only in pre-approved Safe Protest Zones. Not much point going around in circles from there.

They said it about Parks - a useful example to keep coming back to - and they said it about MLK which prompted him to write the letter from Birmingham jail. What 'counter productive' tends to mean is 'I wish you'd shut up because you're making me uncomfortable'. Too bad. Paradigm shifts hurt.

Lets unequivocate - you are an rear end in a top hat and it comes through no matter what political position you hold. No one is on your side not because you might be right bit because you are such a toxic individual that shows nothing approaching empathy people are afraid of full hearted defending of the man yelling at dawn service even if they agree with you because no one wants to be seen as your friend. Conversely the other side dont want to be tarred as jingoistic war sympathisers if they show the slightest romanticism to what ANZAC was pre Howard so they are tempering their criticism as they're afraid of being labelled pearl clutchers while JPB has the guts to know he is secure in his politics enough to understand that his actions mean having to deal with a shitstain like you whose political purity is reliant entirely on whatever is the most x-treme. gently caress off, shut up, go away, kill yourself in no particular order.

Family First just shot themselves in the foot. I don't know how much the rest of you know about Christian culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in the ALP where you can become successful by being an rear end in a top hat. If you screw someone over in Family First, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance. What this means is the conservative public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to vote for the Australian Conservatives in either house, nor will they purchase any of their membership . This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Cory has alienated an entire voting bloc with this move. Cory, publicly apologize and cancel the merger with Family First or you can kiss your voters goodbye.
