The reviews for some of the movies featured in this season are full of sad people also. There's a bunch of reviews from pre-MST3K like "I saw this movie when I was a kid and watched it again later and it made me nostalgic. 7/10." and then reviews from post-MST3K ranting about how terrible the movie was. They wouldn't have even heard of the movie if it wasn't on MST3K!

I'm a little obsessed with Rifftrax. I buy pretty much everything they put out. Except the shorts. I'd be happy to buy them, but without a playlist feature, it's kind of annoying when I want to watch something for an hour or so to keep having to take a break, dig through the library and pick the next one.

I have a couple of shorts collections on DVD, but I've gotten used to not setting up a DVD player when I want to watch stuff. I'd happily buy digital downloads of shorts collections if they'd do it. Something like maybe all of the ACI shorts (At Your Fingertips: Garbage!) together or all the Norman shorts or something like that.

Yeah, anyway I could just watch half a dozen shorts in a row easily would be great. If I just want to watch a short 5 min video, I'm more likely to hit up youtube or something than log into their site and dig through my library of stuff. It's gotten better recently, but still not great.

I have everything I bought downloaded and in iTunes and in a Rifftrax playlist. Plus I make a point of changing the start point to right after the animated intro. It's cool once but if I'm watching a bunch I don't want to keep seeing it.

You can get a decent sized external drive for pretty cheap off Amazon or Best Buy, put all your video files on it, and if you want to have it on your TV install a Plex media server and get a $35 Chromecast. Well, that's my summer project then it looks like.

I do like being able to have all my Rifftrax in a playlist. I fall asleep to Rifftrax and MST3k so I need it to be able to play on. I would think it would be relatively easy for someone to code some kind of playlist function for online videos. I know nothing of such things but it seems like it could be done. "Play this YouTube video, this one from Rifftrax, this one from Vimeo, etc"

All I remember is some talk about tha tthe main character becomes a aggro rear end in a top hat from time to time because his soul is splitting into two half's, light and dark, and it's never explained why thats happening or how he fixes it. THen the lead girl turns into a dragon...because. The big problem with the movie is Studio Ghibli decided to make a direct sequel to the Earthsea books instead of just adapting the existing books. If you have not read the books, this makes no sense. Even the villein is from a previous Earthsea book you need to have read to understand.

I genuinely wish I could watch a big budget Hollywood movie that was mostly intended as a serious genre piece that out of nowhere just has a huge monster stomp his way into the movie during like the last fifth. I guess the closest I can think of is when, halfway through the psychological mystery of The Forgotten, some guy just flies off into the sky in the middle of talking.

It's something I notice in a lot of animes where everything will stop becuase the director or someone else on staff wants to insert their hobbies and interest into the anime. Her outfit says medieval peasant, but her hair says I'm going to to a White Snake concert!

Keromaru5 posted:Personally, I've always wanted to see an otherwise grounded, real-world movie, like a crime drama or a romantic comedy, where one of the characters just happens to be played by a Muppet. Not even an existing Muppet, either. Instead of simply hiring an actor, they would just have Jim Henson's shop construct one. No one ever calls attention to it, it's never relevant to the plot, it's just how they decided to fill that role. It's not quite the same because it's a silly comedy and it's a character that only appears in one episode, but Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt did that. One of the characters meets his boyfriend's family and the grandmother is a muppet. Nobody calls attention to this and she doesn't really do anything that a regular human couldn't do and no other character in the show is a muppet, that's just how she is.
