They are indeed googling the Periodic table. :v:

It looks like it starts up right when the school year starts (around early August), then there's a dip where school is out (Christmas/New Years), then it drops off as the end of the school year approaches.

Yikes yikes yikes. Maybe the flowers were created first and the person decided or was asked to assign each country to a flower? That being said, it's not hard to open up MS Paint and just try to even things out.

It would have been a pretty misleading graph no matter what

I think the flowers are their respective logos (european social democrats often use a rose). These are just random roses

But yea that graphic is worthless for immediate comparison

Paper version is a bit better, but not awesome:

I love how many levels there are to that one

- why are two different regions shades of blue?
- while pre-columbian americans had no contact with the east or the west, they probably still had a GDP. Zero is wrong
- oh poo poo the X-scale is kind of badly logarithmic
- apparently we have excellent data for the year 1??

Well, this is legitimately great...

Quick translation (Indian food just arrived!)

quote:

And the Lord said to Abraham, "Take your only son, whom you love, and go out to Canaan, where the per capita gross national product is twice as large as that of Mesopotamia, and open for your son a saving account with index-linked interest."

They did, but the line is labelled "USA" - so you'd have to split off specifically the parts of the Six Nations that weren't in Canada, and so on. Easier to just be less pedantic and call it zero, I guess.
