Quick questions, for my planning purposes: Last session kind of ended chaotic (hee hee) without me checking where you were going to go next. After meeting with the Inquisitor and Richter's replacement, where did the group want to investigate? You've got a lot of leads (the Arbites chief, the Governor, the Chemical Company owners, the mystery psyker woman, the shipping warehouses, whatever leads Inquisitor Barbara has on the local Imperial agents and nobles, etc), I just want to make sure I'm pulling the right maps/images/etc. Also, as was pointed out, two weeks from now is Memorial Day weekend in the US, so I also wanted to make sure that wasn't a problem for too many party members. Thanks !

susan posted:Quick questions, for my planning purposes: As I said at the end of the game, Memorial Day will be a problem for me. Malcolm would likely be totally focused on vengeance and whatever lead is going to get him within 200 meters of that marine without letting the lumbering fucker get too close until he can empty accurate bolter fire into him. Barring that likely the Arbites chief, since if there is one thing Malcolm can't stand, us dirty cops. Though at this point, his solution will likely be focused on which one gets him killed dead, not finding any more evidence of the Chief's guilt.

We started off heading towards the chemical processing site. Richter stealthed into the site solo, while everybody else tried to pose as more hired ganger goons and get in that way, not to much success. Then Richter failed a stealth check, leading to immediate murder and alarms blaring, at which point the outside crew just kind of drove over some guys and came in. There was a big fight against the guards (there was nudity and tactical breakdancing involved), and we all met back up. The central building had a bunch of workers and a couple spare guards and bosses who surrendered, seeing that we were kind of badasses. Paz analyzed the big vat o' chemicals to discover that yep, it was those drugs we've been chasing, but everybody who knew anything had been memory-wiped of anything useful. There was this one side door leading into a basement that nobody was supposed to go into, so we went in there. At which point everybody started getting mysteriously sick and we pre-emptively flamered the bunch, and the basement door burst open to reveal the planetary governor, some lady in the middle of a makeshift chaos sorcery array, and a goddamn Black Legionnare. The lady started summing daemons through the few corpses we hadn't flamered, and the traitor marine just started wrecking poo poo. We realized we had to run pretty soon, but things were getting bad. Richter, very dramatically in my opinion, threw his Chameleoline Cloak to Paz and told them all to run, and then frenzied to try and hold off the daemons and Black Legionnare as long as possible. Two or three rounds later, everybody was gone, and Richter was torn in half.

wiegieman posted:BTW I could really use a session summary 'cause it sounds like I missed a lot. We tried to sneak into the chemical factory, and we suck at stealth and bluffing our way in. So we fight our way in. We start searching the chemical factory and find out that they are indeed making fire there, well pre warp fire. The basement of the factory has the Governor, some weird psyker, and a Black Legion astartes. Psyker lady summons a Screamer and flamer of Tzeentch. We are no match for that, and we barely get out, with Victor sacrificing himself to tie up the astartes, Paz and Malcolm almost lost to the flames of the Flamer of Tzeentch, and 86 nearly cut in two by the astartes. We landed one good hit on it with the long las. Fucker dodged the only sniper shot I managed to hit with. It was a session where the dice totally hosed us.

I think it was appropriate. Also, 86 discovered that the desperado ability works with running, so expect me/him to be zooming about a lot more in the future. Now, can I do some rolls or whatever to A) repair the broken set of arbites armor that I have B) use some of that Armorer magic to use flexible materials, custom tailoring and some blowtorching to improve its agility modifier? C) stat out and improve our Van We should probably make purchases now that we're hiding at the Inquisitor's and are unlikely to get caught. That said, lets go after the Arbites. Killing traitors is good, not having the imperial law breathing down our neck is even better, especially now that I have introduced the governor's fat face to a bunch of shrapnel.

HEY, YOU GUYS LIKE FIRE? Sumalee Sho Born deep within the bowels of the Victory Class Battleship Flame Cleanses The Unclean, Sumalee Sho's gifts manifested early. Perhaps influenced by the lance batteries and generatoriums she grew up in the shadows of, she found herself able to generate and control intense flames. Yeah, that was... some harsh rolls on your part. Having the Black Legionnaire start the combat against you was definitely not an optimal choice, especially with the Daemons being summoned behind you by the Sorceress. That said, you took a chunk out of that Chaos Marine, and he's gonna remember that. Had to spend his fate point not to get shot by Malcolm too, and that was a good enough shot to severely threaten him. JcDent posted:Now, can I do some rolls or whatever to Yes for A-C. On the subject of purchases, I'm expecting a day or so of downtime for you to arrange the meeting with the Inquisitor, so yeah it'd make sense to do a round of purchasing now. It be nice if I had finesse so all the shooting talents weren't so expensive, but the point is not to have someone good at everything, and I like Malcolm as a character. He's the investigator with a vigilante streak, and his build reflects that. He shouldn't be the best with a gun, or even the party sniper, but he should still be able to hold his own in a fight. The only troubling thing is the party is very melee heavy right now, and the only other character somewhat good with guns is a pistol user. Hell, my main gun is a combat shotgun. Malcolm can be our medium to long range engager, but his aptitudes is going to make that difficult. He can't hold his own in a fight when he's the only real ranged character and every one is putting him in the position to shoot into melee.

Paz has the right idea. I think I'm going to try and focus Malcolm more on specialist weapons and maybe take weapon training plasma and try to get a plasma gun or pistol. Because that poo poo is scary to a marine. Maybe look at some exotic weapon training like a needle rifle or Webber. Potentially heavy weapons or a grenade launcher.

I know my goal item is a Best Eviscerator, but I'd also probably gift it to Borgia - she'd do way better with it than me. Other than that, trying to build up enough Influence to be ordained as a Sister of Battle. If you grab flamers, you should totally shoot for the Talent that turns off friendly fire.

Because of the size of the planet and the fact it's a major trade hub, I'd give you guys a +20 bonus on your Influence checks to acquire items... not that that helps with things like Inferno pistols, but hey, every bit helps. And remember to make Commerce checks to try for better acquisition too; there's only a downside if you blow the check by 3 or more degrees, and what are the odds of that happening *whistles innocently*? And hey, if y'all get out of this alive (...well, minus Richter...), I'm sure the Inquisitor will get you all a present for a job well done .

But we have a way to go to that point.

Alright, decided on my acquisitions. Imma try for three: 1: Compact for my mother fricking autogun 40 fel (contact network) + 20 (situational bonus) = TN of 60 2: Plasma Gun 40-30 (for very rare)+20 situational= TN of 30 3. Melta gun 40 -30 (very rare)+20(situational)= TN of 30 acquisitions TN of 60, 30, 30: 3#1d100 13 78 79 Well I finally get the mother-trucking compact upgrade, but I guess my dreams of being the heavy support ranged guy are delayed for now. Aside from having a bolter with accurate. Not going to worry about spending my EXP since I'm not playing this weekend. e: I can finally use this image of a nerf gun I painted for cosplay purposes for my Autogun Werix fucked around with this message at 14:06 on May 27, 2017 |

Haha, nice. Looks like Malcolm finally unearthed the proper rites to detach the stock without angering the machine spirits. All I really can think to request is an Eviscerator and a Hydra Pattern Flamer Array, both of which are Very Rare (-30). +20 for the situation and with 30 Influence makes it a target of 20 for either one. Rolling in Roll20, got 34 & 06. Got the Flamer Array. Should have switched it up and asked for a Good Eviscerator instead, oh well.
