For those that like folk metal, I found these guys in a Youtube dive. A little bit like Finntroll but not as dark-sounding. Fast, noodly and folky. Pretty decent.

Yeah, going through Iron Bonehead's bandcamp, this is better, less directly derivative Hellenic poo poo, probably because they were around back in the 90s.

Always forget just how good it is.

Riot is so drat good, I love the first three albums as well, seemed like they should've been a bigger deal.

Agreed on the Alestorm love, they're a lot of fun. Thanks for all the various speed metal / heavy metal / power metal / thrash links I've been enjoying by the way folks! That Mean Street band is so catchy and smooth, beautiful, a bit like vintage Crashdiet.

I don't know what it is about them but Bolzer dude's mumbly droopy melodic vocals scratch the weirdest itch. I loving love it. The only other band I've heard that has anything like this is Mastodon during some of Troy's vocal parts. Bolzer is actually like early Mastodon stripped down and thrown into a mystical cave.

I really like Bolzer alright?

The new songs sound great! I enjoyed the last album a lot, it slipped under the radar for a lot of people I think. They hit all kinds of rad classic metal/punk/sludge notes.

still bummed they haven't played philly since like 2010 (narrows and trap them opened for them). they ended their set with moral eclipse and the entire room lost their minds. loving ruled. never was a big fan of their mid-era stuff but white silence was great.

This is the song I chose to remember him with today. It's so loving good.

Cornell had such an amazing voice and back in the early days even toured with Voivod (learned that today as they posted about that tour with them, SG and loving Faith No More, wow). His voice pretty much got me accustomed to metal vox with his amazing screams that he could STILL hit in his later years.

I always found Soundgarden hard to listen to in large doses. Their style just wasn't the sort of thing you could listen to nonstop. Or at least I couldn't.

But drop their albums into a playlist with all your other music and hit shuffle? Whenever a Soundgarden song comes on it fits in well.
