Actually the buyout rules around injuries are a lot looser than the expansion draft exemption iirc. You can't be bought out if you have practically any injury requiring surgery or long-term treatment at the time of the buyout, whereas the only people exempt from the expansion draft are guys whose careers are basically over or are so injured they haven't played in a year+.

The team with no defensemen versus the team with no centers.

Cross-posting from the Toxx thread so more people than just bunnyofdoom hold me to this (and hopefully more people donate, too): If PK Subban and the Predators win the Stanley Cup, I will donate $250 to the Research Institute of McGill University Health Centre, which is the organization which manages medical research at all the Anglo hospitals in Montreal, including the Children's. I'm donating to the general research agency because Children's already has all of PK's money. If Sidney Crosby and the Penguins win the Stanley Cup, I was considering donating to the Sidney Crosby Foundation, but it appears to not do much of anything. Instead, I will donate $250 Canadian to the IWK Health Centre, which is the closest major research centre to Cole Harbour. If possible, I will specifically direct my donation to the Canadian Center for Vaccinology, so hopefully we stop seeing hockey players with the loving mumps already.

Sidney Crosby can gently caress himself and Pekka Rinne is an attractive Swedish man who blocks pucks and also I've been waiting for one of my teams to win a championship since goddamn 1995 so go Preds. (gently caress gently caress gently caress we still don't have any living centers gently caress gently caress gently caress)

Point is invalid as Rinne is a not so attractive Fin. This is my dream match up. Life long Pens fan and have been a Preds fan for years because I've always liked the idea of a hockey team in Nashville. Plus Suter is one of my favorite players.

Hip Now and Wow! posted:Jultz and Daley are both back, so at the very least the Pens can move the puck a bit. Matta it's bit of a wildcard but will probably play good enough, and Dumpling has been pretty solid. Cole is adequate, and Hainsey will hopefully not play much? All in all, not a top tier defense, but quite possibly enough to match up with the just as broken Nashville offense. Sullivan insists on playing Hainsey 20 minutes a game and it's pretty frustrating

Granted he plays all 6 defensemen 20 minutes a game. There was an article on NBC's website recently about the Penguins' ice time distribution for defensemen and what they're doing is almost unprecedented since the lockout.

Did Ruhwedel show enough to bump Hainsey when he comes back? I'm not sure if I could scratch anyone else for him.

Fisher is likely to play in Game 1, which would help the Preds on faceoffs for sure Hornqvist is a game-time decision for the Pens. Would help the Pens get horny I guess idk

I think the Preds offence should be fine. I know it was only two games, but they managed fairly okay vs. Anaheim in games 5 & 6, and their defence is light years better than Pittsburgh's.
