Omega/Okada will be great but Omega/Suzuki is also going to be really great. God drat the whole G1 looks great.

Ibushi interview today with him wanting a match with Omega to be special is also great and totally starts a build for a Dome match.

We'll have to wait for the schedule but Okada can take losses to Omega/MiSu/Elgin to set up his missing the finals, possibly YTR if they really want to hammer home his exhaustion gimmick. I'm gonna say Big Mike makes it out of B after beating Okada/Omega, it lets you push him back up to his previous IC levels and he can safely take a loss in the finals. Okada won't make the finals, Omega doesn't need another high-profile setback, and MiSu doesn't need it.

A still looks like Naito's block to lose, with Tana/Goto/Ibushi as potential losses. I think he takes L's to Goto/Ibushi, beats Tana and wins the block on that tie-breaker, followed by beating Elgin to setup the road to Wrassle Kingdome which could look like this:

Okada/Naito main for the strap
Omega/Ibushi
Tana/Big Mike? I don't know if Tana's gonna hold the IC for a while once the G1 is over, and he doesn't need to take a third straight Dome loss.

Gedo is giving us the rightful CWC finals!

Naito should coast easily into the final of his block. Picking who he beats out of Block B is tough as hell though. It will likely be Omega to run back the semi from last year, but it could easily be Elgin.

And Okada beat Nakamura in the finals a couple years ago, which technically counts.

There's also a difference between beating the boss straight up and YTR's dinger punch/rollup combo. It's easy to handwave away Okada losing to the latter.

It's kind of hard to figure out a final along the lines of last year's since there's not a lot of other guys at Goto's "credible threat to main eventers but not a marquee guy and also can deliver a great match" level. I guess Elgin, Suzuki and Ibushi would be the closest and out of those Elgin is the only one I could see in the final. So I guess i'm predicting a Naito vs. Big Mike final.

looking at the last block day matches we know i'm feeling this even more now. yano and kenny spoil misu and okada respectively to allow elgin to advance.

I feel like when Kenny's contract runs out he'll probably re-sign. Because he already had an absolutely miserable time in WWE developmental, he'd probably want to skip developmental. He'd probably also want WWE to match what NJPW is paying him. And he'd probably want creative input on his character's direction. The first two might not be a problem, but I'd be shocked if they gave him the last thing.

Then again, I didn't think AJ Styles would go to WWE, either.
