Caster Cu is terrible outside of that though. Prototype Cu is decent, but has something of a narrow niche. Fate Cu, on the other hand, is really bloody good for a number of reasons.

There's a guy on my friends' list with a lvl. 60 Jeanne, lvl. 2 NP, equipped with a Kaleidoscope. He's also got a level 40 Herc and a 37 Saber Alter, Hello, my new best friend. It's like middle school all over again.

oh I rolled the "bad" 5★? eh well im already getting close to the end of Orleans, and it sounds like this game's low-grade junk is actually usable so I guess I'll just stick with what I got I'll just maybe ascend her once I guess, just not heavily invest in her unless I start overflowing with resources for some reason

Suzuka Gozen, who was introduced with the CCC event, is now one of my favorite waifus. She's basically the Japanese equivalent of a valley girl and even sounds the part.

Altera is actually a pretty good roll, much better than Artoria at least. She is the second strongest Saber in the game, and she's sixth from the top of all playable Servants. And really, she ought to be considered the strongest Saber and the fifth Servant from the top because Arthur fittingly has almost identical problems to Artoria. What's dragging her down in NA right now is that she doesn't have her strengthening quest (which lets her fill a star absorber niche) and Merlin (who makes anyone with any Buster cards at all automatically 20x better) hasn't been released yet. Merlin is gonna take a looooong while to come out though.

The confusion I've seen people have with Altera and Altria is part of the reason I'm so annoyed Type Moon is sticking with Altria.Tae posted:I kinda like Artoria more just because the party-wide atk buff is more useful for my comp. When the OP said Artoria was bad, it was mostly talking from the long run perspective. For what the game is right now she's perfectly serviceable. But as the game continues, all of Artoria's skills will lose luster, and having an AOE NP quickly becomes more of a burden than a boon. But if you like Saber, don't worry cause the moment Okita comes out you'll get a glance at what a true waifu can do.

That is factually wrong, but the game is so easy that it's a pointless argument at the end of the day. With the exceptions of Waver, Jack, and Merlin your team comp matters way more than the specific Servants you choose.

How does leveling curves work with Ascensions? If you got an S-wave type curve is it like 15 bad lvls/15 good/15 bad/15 good etc etc taking into account Ascensions/Grails?

Yes it takes into account Max levels via ascensions, but not Grailing. And for S -curve it's 'Beginning Sucks, Middle shoots up like a rocket, End tapers off'

Grail levels are all linear. And S-type doesn't alternate, it just gets better as it moves toward the middle level out of their natural maximum and falls off as it moves away from it.
