The majority of people who play video games don't go on twitch or go to conventions or whatever, they're just normal people. But theres a lot of people who self identify as a "gamer" as some sort of class or some poo poo. But in the realm of "GAMERS" the majority of them who are either online, on twitter, on twitch, on reddit, on 4chan, etc., identify more to the right..

I brought up RLM since their Prev_Recorded streams worked well as a way for some of the crew to stream and occasionally be able to involve other members in the crew that weren't as game-centric. Those two tweets with FDB had them push the idea to compete against Stefan Molyneaux and Sargon of Akkad type streams, which seems like a bad idea to limit their scope that way. Specially when your average twitch viewer has far, far more choices to chose their time with.

A lot of the things I personally enjoy are supported by some of the worst possible people on the planet. I enjoy: Video games, death metal and other noisy metal genres that most people hate, MMA, and NFL/CFB. Video game culture is loving gross, and I am more embarrassed to admit to playing video games in public than admitting I listen to death metal unironically. The metal world is filled with Nazi's, fascists, people who worship church burning dorks from Norway, nerds, weirdos, etc. This is less embarrassing to me than gamer culture. I still have no idea what gamergate is even about because I actively avoid reading video game related anything. I just assume the gamer people are wrong, because they always are. edit: What I m trying to say is you can like dumb things and still be a decent person I guess. RLM did one of their re:view vids about starship troopers and they actually made a lot of the same points as that frost/christman episode, and as you'd expect the comments had a bunch of guys going "oh so eveyone's a fascist now huh i guess the word has lost all meaning just like racist" or whatever. they have some lovely fans if youtube comment sections are anything to go by, i mean they mostly focus on action/horror/scifi and super hero nerd poo poo, and ocasionally make mildly problematic jokes while being unconstrained by wokeness, i can see why they might attract some dumb edgy nerd fans. but I don't really see them going out of their way to trigger people or any other kind of dumb right-wing internet troll stuff
