NJPW guys wouldn't massively run away with a tag team competition unless Gedo pulls his thumb out of his arse with regards to booking tag teams, so a tag team contest would have that going for it. Hana Kimura & Kagetsu would be the awesome joshis who get utterly curbstomped.

I dunno. I feel like WWE would run away with it minus like, the young bucks.

It's part of why I stopped doing the monthly polls. (other reasons being low vote totals and I felt overworked)

Probably, WWE and NJPW are the only promotions that most people watch and of those two WWE are the only ones doing tag teams half decently. I'd be backing my boys in the London Riots and my Oedo Tai girls to the hilt though. Tag team wrestling is the best and everyone should be doing it better.

Somebody really needs to show Gedo old All Japan tags to see how good tag wrestling can be. Especially the Furnace/Lafon vs Kobashi/Kikuchi

I still think tag teams should be lumped together on these polls. Does anyone actually care about Kofi Kingston enough to vote him into the third round? That's pretty obviously a vote for the New Day, not the individual wrestler. And most people still don't know which Uso is which.

i voted kofi through in preparation for his next royal rumble spot where braun strowman comes out and while clearing the entire ring, kofi jumps out onto the ring steps, then onto the barricade and crawls along it all the way back up to the entrance way where big e enters next and carries him back to the ring, all night long. that or he just does a regular skin the cat since they ran out of new stuff to do

I actually agree that for guys like the Usos, and maybe even the Young Bucks, that I could probably have left them out in favor of other singles stars. If I was putting the list together again today, I probably would have decided to leave all 4 of them out. But I liked the idea of pitting the Bucks vs. The Revival in Round 1. And I like the Usos.

For tags like the New Day though, all 3 of those guys have had way way different careers and are all completely different wrestlers. Sometimes one wrestler is way more favored than the other. So even though they've been teamed for a very very long time, I think giving all 3 a slot is a good choice.

I like Kofi as an individual, and neither of the Usos have displayed enough individuality to make it past the first round, whereas each of the members of TND are distinct individuals, so there. If the Usos were entered as a tag team against Ishii or whoever, I might've considered them in the first round, but as individuals, nah.

DIVISION 2 ROUND 2

Kazuchika Okada

Eliminated in The Semi-Finals in 2015 by AJ Styles
Eliminated in The Finals of the 2013 Arch of Bunk Tournament by Daniel Bryan. Won the Title: The Meat of Heads

Pros: He is the RAAAAAAINMAKER, current IWGP Heavyweight champion and has had a really good year with multiple great high profile matches. Is still in the prime of his career so who knows what else he can do!
Cons: Some people still don't watch New Japan and maybe you just like other people over him.

John loving Zandig

Eliminated in Round 1 in 2007 by Mitsuharu Misawa

Pros: JEEEEEZZUSS THERE WAS FIVE OF THEM! Zandig is back! He did a crazy roof spot!
Cons: H8 CLUB, I THOUGHT H8 CLUB WAS DEAD! He injured himself on that roof spot. Isn't a good wrestler.

Pete Dunne

Pros: The Bruiserweight has been the focal point of the WWE UK series and NXT matches as their top heel and rightfully so as Pete is just this unlikable jerk the likes we haven't seen since William Regal, while still being a great wrestler. Not only has he been tearing it up in WWE, but he's still on the UK indy scene having great matches.
Cons: Maybe you just don't like UK indies and what little of his WWE work you've seen hasn't been enough to win this tournament.

Matt Hardy

Eliminated in Round 1 in 2015 by Chuck Taylor.
Eliminated in Round 3 in 2013 by Minoru Suzuki.
Eliminated in Round 1 in 2011 by Sara Del Rey.
Eliminated in Round 2 in 2009 by Tyler Black.
Eliminated in Round 2 in 2007 by Homicide.

Pros: Completely revived his career as an indy draw with his "BROKEN" gimmick. Got over enough he was able to land a career back in WWE.
Cons: The gimmick isn't being used in WWE because they're worried about a lawsuit. Just a nostalgia act at the moment.

Cesaro

Eliminated in Round 3 in 2015 by Kazuchika Okada.
Eliminated in Round 3 in 2013 by Daniel Bryan.
Eliminated in Round 3 in 2011 by Daniel Bryan.
Eliminated in Round 1 in 2009 by Jack Swagger.
Eliminated in Round 3 in 2007 by Edge.

Pros: Is finally getting pushed and used well in WWE! Has been a multiple time Tag Team champion being the likes of the New Day and the Hardyz. Him and Sheamus are a pretty good tag team.
Cons: People still think he's not pushed enough. The initial Sheamus vs. Cesaro feud was aggravatingly booked and the original outcome of them becoming a tag team was also a slog to get through.

Aleister Black

Pros: Aleister Black has come into NXT with a hard push and a presentation on NXT that some guys on the main roster don't even get. The former Tommy End was tearing up the indies before he joined WWE as well.
Cons: Only just started up in NXT but doesn't seem to be in any big program to showcase him. Hopefully his momentum lasts. Some people think he's too try hard.

Ricochet

Eliminated in The Quarter Finals in 2015 by Kevin Owens.
Eliminated in Round 4 in 2013 by Daniel Bryan.
Eliminated in Round 1 in 2011 by KENTA.

Pros: Ricochet has been tearing it up as the best high flier on the indy scene and Japan for a long time and the last couple years show his hardwork. He was the main focal point of the Lucha Underground show as Prince Puma while not tearing it up in New Japan's Jr division.
Cons: Was in Lucha Underground and technically is still there with their awful contracts so he can't appear on any other TV. Hasn't really won a major title, be that in New Japan or an indy promotion. One of the worst name searchers.

Tyler Bate

Pros: The young 20 year was the main face of the UK Tournament and series being the first ever WWE UK Champion. Bate was 19 when he won the title and the tournament. He's had very good matches the whole time he's been in WWE and on the indies.
Cons: Maybe you think this young punk doesn't deserve to be in the WWE or the favorite of this whole tournament. The WWE UK brand is sort of non-existent and maybe you don't watch UK indies.

Finn Balor

Eliminated in the Quarter Finals in 2015 by AJ Styles.
Eliminated in the Semi-Finals in 2013 by Daniel Bryan.
Eliminated in the Quarter Finals in 2011 by CM Punk.

Pros: Finn Balor was the top guy of NXT having feuds with Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, and Nakamura before being called up. On his call up he was pushed strong and became the first WWE Universal Champion beating Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins on his way to become champion.
Cons: Was instantly injured in his big championship win and vacated the title. Was off tv due to the injury from the Summer until after the Royal Rumble. Wasn't even on the most recent WWE PPV. Seems to be lost in the shuffle at the moment.

Dragon Lee

Pros: Crazy athletic and chops the poo poo out of people. His multiple promotion wide feud with Hiromu Takahashi is one of the best feuds since Steen vs. Generico.
Cons: People don't watch Lucha. You know what that means.

Zack Sabre Labour Jr.

Eliminated in Round 2 in 2015 by Jay Lethal.

Pros: Considered to be among the best technical wrestlers right now. Starting a much anticipated run in NJPW. Zacky 2 belts.
Cons: People say his stuff doesn't look realistic. Some don't dig his look.

Neville

Eliminated in Round 1 in 2015 by Chris Hero.
Eliminated in Round 3 in 2013 by Shinsuke Nakamura.
Eliminated in Round 1 in 2011 by Daisuke Sekimoto.

Pros: Probably at his absolute best in WWE right now. The heel turn has done wonders for him. Has been rad ever since his return.
Cons: He was out injured before that. Also being the top of 205 Live isn't much to brag about at the moment.

Hiromu Takahashi

Pros: DARYL. The next top Jr. Heavyweight. Takes huge bumps. Everybody loves him.
Cons: If he keeps wrestling like he currently is he'll be crippled. Probably.

Juice Robinson

Pros: Since leaving NXT he's actually improved and become a good midcard gaijin for NJPW and is even entering his first G1!
Cons: His style is pretty american and might not be your thing in NJPW. Those dreadlocks.

Lio Rush

Pros: Young cruiserweight talent on the indies and is probably soon going to NXT.
Cons: For such a SMALL MAN he sure has a BIG EGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott Dawson

Pros: One half of the best Tag Team in WWE. Able to have good old school tag matches in modern day WWE.
Cons: Instantly derailed on main roster with an injury to Dash Wilder and hasn't done much recently.
