That might be a bit extreme, but it would be interesting to see how the fans and characters would react to Rick attempting another Rick Potion No. 9 style cop out.

SiKboy posted:Isn't a manwich technically a warlock? Oh no. Trust me on this, I got into paganism in the late 90s when it was cool because Internet. They hate it when people say that. The bit about manwitches being warlocks, that is. They don't hate it when you say that paganism was all the rage in the late 90s. Or maybe they do; it hasn't come up. But the warlock thing sure did. They hate it. Apparently it means "oath-breaker" or something, but I really think they just didn't like being associated with the movies, which were kind-of dumb. I like how the Harry Potter world took care of this: wizards and witches. Easy. Except for the whole gender magic identity issue, but hey, the wizarding world still has slavery, so the odds on that coming up are slim.

That might go back to continuity chat, but during the episode trailer I got the feeling that the original Rick and Morty had more adventures with the heroes than our versions, since Morty seemed confused that Slater's character knew him already. I also find it interesting that Rick is part of a superhero team, that seems more like something he would make fun of.

vermin posted:I think Jerry's gonna commit suicide at the end of the season. I have this theory that Jerry has actually committed suicide several times, but each time Rick brings another unwitting Jerry from another dimension in to keep the family dynamic stable (for his own convenience if nothing else.) He's certainly fine with Jerry going away via divorce, in fact he revels in it, but he's seen what the suicide does to the family in other dimensions: shutting Beth down, making Summer become self-destructive, and, most importantly, Morty rejects everything Rick entirely, blaming him for it. At some point it gets out and it has a profound effect on the Jerry who is no longer in the house, much less the family (imagine the reaction Beth would have if she found out she's helped drive not one, but many of her husbands to their end.)
