The concept behind Alan Rails is so cool and strong it actually seems like a shame he was conceived as a one-appearance character to be killed off.

I think this episode was on the dumber end, but the jokes were insanely good. Was there anything in this episode tying it to the current season plot or other adventures we've seen? They've sneakily done alternate universe episodes in the past, and I think this could be an evil Morty origin story or something.

I enjoyed this episode for how it made Morty a near-equal to Rick. As Rick said, "Man, I am really getting high-roaded today," and it all came from Morty's familiarity with Rick's... Rickness.

A very interesting theory I came up with after watching the episode a second time. I don't think Rick got blackout drunk this time i.e he remembered where he left his portal gun. Also right when the pre-record drop down screen starts Rick runs off to "Shut this thing off" and just returns without saying anything. My theory is he remembered making the sappy Morty video and quickly went off to change it as its the only video that has the cave background unlike the others. This would also explain why at the end it accepts Morty as a correct answer even though it was "keyed" for Noop Noop.

I don't know what gave you that impression. The viewer was shown where he left the gun. There's nothing to indicate that was a memory. I should say, I was complaining about Roiland's obsession with poop before but at least the show never lingers on it purely for gross-out humor the way Ren & Stimpy or Metalocalpyse did. Things like Goldenfold's joke at the therapist place work great. I just think its a bit much of the same sometimes I liked Metalocalypse a lot but the later seasons that were more plot focused were soooo much better than the first season which was just metal references and gross-out humor. 5 minutes of barfing!

Hi, I'm Mr. Neversleepagainever! Look at me!! I've been enjoying the hell out of the season so far. The fact that the final trap was so sloppy that Morty sufficed as the correct answer made me laugh once I realized that Morty wasn't, in fact, the correct answer. Someone mentioned that Rick couldn't have blacked out because he remembered where his portal gun was. Well, for anyone who has blacked out, it's not uncommon to remember brief flashes of stuff, especially if you reach for your car keys and then remember the hi-loving-larious thing you did with them last night that put them out-of-reach. Morty just knowing the answer was Israel because "it's just something he starts talking about when he gets drunk" really made me laugh, because I have (had, God rest his soul) at least one relative who similarly would start talking about a very specific world problem once he reached a certain stage of drunkenness. tarlibone fucked around with this message at 02:25 on Aug 16, 2017 |
