I watched a video of someone playing part of Gears of War 4 and the plotline is literally "you only thought you beat the Locust, they've actually just been in time-out and now they've turned into new SUPER-LOCUST and are doing the exact same poo poo as before." Also somehow you spend half the game fighting disposable robots or something. It looks real bad.

I beat Sonic Mania. Took maybe five or six hours across two sittings. I think the last forth of the game is plagued with long stages and a preponderance of obstacles that will crush you. I lost many lives for sliding a pixel too far and being lightly pressed by a moving block or a loving boss. Running out of lives bumps you back to the main menu so the No Save mode is really a 1cc mode. Beat the last boss with one life left and one ring I was desperately juggling. Finished with five emeralds, five gold medals and three silver. Beating the game opens up a stage select so now I'm grinding Mirage Saloon for the last emeralds (for the *true* ending) and whatever bonus stages I run across. Then maybe do a Knuckles play through, as I hear the end stages are remixed to better support his abilities. I know this sounds stupid but I kind of wish there was a story or plot I could read about the game. It seems like the developer had something in mind with the emeralds and the Eggman Jr robots, but it doesn't even hit S3&K levels of minimal story telling.
