Javy Baez is my dream daddy Also, with Colón's win over the DBacks last night, he became the third active pitcher (Scherzer, in Hawk voice LACKEY) to beat all 30 teams. He has yet to win a game at Wrigley or Chase Field - not sure how many players have beaten all teams and won at every stadium.

Randy Johnson has a WIN at 43 different stadiums. He has only pitched in two stadiums that he did not get a win in. Atlanta-Fulton and Baltimore-Memorial Stadium.

Also did anyone link this article by Jeff Passan making fun of the Umpires "protest"? https://sports.yahoo.com/hypocrisy-umpires-complaining-players-obvious-empty-wristband-protest-173957558.html Because quote:In the spirit of the “verbal attacks” that prompted some Major League Baseball umpires to wear white wristbands in protest Saturday, here is a written complement that will say what players never would: This is nothing more than a feeble, misguided, ill-conceived dissent from a group that showed its hypocrisy hours into its act of defiance. If umpires weren’t every bit the chest-puffing ninnies they purport the players to be, maybe their stand wouldn’t look so nakedly duplicitous. And to make the whole charade even more farcical, the umpires seemingly didn’t realize white wristbands are often worn in support of people who suffer from blindness.

$10,000 for calling Angel Hernandez a bad umpire? Not bad. Think if we raise enough money we could pay Kinsler to tell Joe West to suck his balls? Thinking what. .. 20k ought to cover it? Somebody make a kickstarter.

FlamingLiberal posted:Just like that time they went on strike and got destroyed by MLB They didn't strike. Richie Phillips was a loving moron and convinced his constituents that if they all resigned en masse, MLB would be forced to take their demands seriously. After receiving the resignations, MLB went "lol ok" and just promoted umpires from AAA. I was looking up other players who did this, and how the gently caress has Edwin Jackson beaten 28 different teams.

Edwin Jackson has played for like a million teams and is wildly inconsistent, to the degree that he’ll throw a no-hitter one week and give up 500 runs the next.

The rest of this season is watching Albies and Swanson develop, and otherwise just tracking strange random happenings. Won't be any important prospects coming up (especially Acuna) who aren't already on 40-man.

Some might say the Texas Rangers are currently playing their best baseball as they chase down the second wildcard spot. With pitching as thin and shakey as theirs is, they pretty much have to go into every game aiming to throw up a comical amount of runs to have a shot at victory. No lead is safe. They are currently sitting at .500 yet again, so...not really sure why anyone bothers implying they're going to go on a tear. Not saying it's impossible, but it would require the team being a completely different team than they've been for the entirety of the season thusfar. I just don't see it shaking out. But who knows!

I feel bad for Derek Falvey and the Twins because they made a wise and prudent decision not to throw resources at short term talent but it's exciting to see that they are very much in it and I think the team understands that they are playing for something.
