Like a lot of things Yakuza, Majima Everywhere would be a lot better if it was just the scripted fights/encounters and not literally running into him every five minutes.

It feels like you start out a lot weaker in Kiwami, which works well for the 'you've gotten old and rusty in jail' feel but you get the old Kiryu back pretty quickly.

Kiwami 2 might exist because of Western sales. Might be reading too much into it but it's undoubtable the series finally got some more recognition thanks to 0.

Found out that Yakuza Fan has a pretty good selection of shirts at Teepublic. Bought the Youthful Feeling in classic, may buy a few others if the fit is right.

I'm not sure how useful the Majima Sensor ability really is, because mostly I just hear "KIRYU-CHAN~" every five seconds and the man himself is nowhere to be seen. I guess it's alerting me to the fact he's hiding somewhere nearby, but in this game you don't exactly need a sensor to know that.

Sensor just makes him show up on the mini map if he's moving, if he's hiding he won't show up on it.

Did you get another message before that? Sometimes you can have a rank up event and a 'you did ~thing~ certain amount of times' event going at the same time and one will kind of take precedence over the other.

The map will highlight a green circle usually and that's the rank up event. If you stop seeing him later on then you'll need to advance the story more

Man, I really intended to only play for a few hours and try to advance the story last night, but I ended up playing until 2 AM because of Mesuking, Pocket Circuit, and a whole bunch of side quests. Was there a casino in the ramen shop in the original? Or is that new? Because I also don't remember the substory that got me there in the first place.

No that's it, you have to say you're not going to let them go when you get a choice at the end. You can also get it from the second quest with the guy who wants to be Kiryu's minion

I'm greatly, greatly pleased that Team Yakuza managed to listen to everyone telling them how poo poo Cat Fighting in 0 was and instead of ditching or leaving it as-is they made a real game out of it. Mistakes into Miracles! Also thanks VideoGames for the thread title change.

You can get Kiryu to join in and reminisce, too, talking about working in real estate. Majma even calls it his "tragic-rear end backstory".

They get absurd from 5 on and be damned if I'm doing everyone's Colosseum fights in 5, the Cat Fighting in 0, or Haruka's requests in Kiwami. It's bad enough that they redid a bunch of the mini-games so the tricks I did to sweep stuff like darts doesn't work in 0/K and I don't want to spend an hour with a ruler mapping out trajectory on every shot in Billiards and god help me playing Mahjong to any kind of effectiveness.
