Why on earth would we trust the IC?

I'm strongly in favor of making a counteroffer. Say no on the harvesters; ostensibly, they belong to TFS anyway. Send escorts for the personnel retrieval. If she refuses, you can martyr our loyal crews in fire and void just like you all would like.

Edit: and as a plus, delay from further negotiations is more time for 3rd fleet to get that little bit closer.

Beyond even not trusting the IC, this lady is a literal sociopath. Like, an incredible liar, and with no moral qualms about breaking promises. She's even less trustworthy than your normal bourgeois lapdog.

The only thing they're interested in here is capturing the harvesters for leverage at the peace conference, getting to rescue some VIP's from the guillotines isn't gonna get them to wave off.

Let us have our glorious last stand, it'll make a great final action scene for the movie.

Won't the Terran battlegroup arrive before 3rd Fleet? I would think delaying would be a con, not a pro.

EUGENE? Where's my fuckin' money, Eugene?
Maybe she'll understand if it's comes from the words of another imperialist:

We shall go on to the end. We shall fight on Titan, we shall fight on the harvesters and gasgiants, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in space, we shall defend our terraformers, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the moons, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender. Also, gently caress the IC.

Basically a direct Churchill qoute.

Pretty sure 3rd is around 12 hours out and Terrans are twice that, though they have launched fighters.

Take the deal The IC see the bigger issue at hand, play politics with Terra don't waste Martian lives and resources in a pointless fight with the IC. They are even letting Titan remain as the TFS.

If we engage the IC forces now we lose ships, people and the Terran forces come in shoot everyone and declare that they are forcing the peace.

No deal.
Counter offer
to allow the remaining IC forces to surrender their arms, undergo an identity check and be ferried off-planet. Understandably we cannot allow certain high value individuals to escape and thus the process will be necessarily slow to give us time to reload confirm identities

Fuck you say?!

Point out to her that regardless of whetehr Mars or the IC win this battle, if we fight, then Earth takes Titan.
Even with the harvesters the Titanians will be months before they can ship Sorium to the now extra hungry Earth.

Now, if the IC fleet were to join with the Martian fleet to dissuade Earth from a military solution, the IC's negotiating position for future Sorium contracts would be greatly enhanced.
And I'm sure an appreciative TFS would be more amniable to negotiating with the IC for prisoners if it were aparent that the IC are willing to keep them from being under the bootheels of the solar system's OTHER tyrants.

Miss Deadeyes is already in a lifeboat, so the discussion to accept her offer is moot at this point, too bad so far the next officers in the line of succession are not inclined to see reason.
