I really wish the game would just not drop XP or QP cards outside of Ember/Treasure dailies so as to not waste my time when I see a chest in Monster Hunting and elsewhere.

D'Eon is a bit worse than George, IMO, because of the weird way his skills are set up. His heal is tied to his taunt, so if you start the fight by taunting, then the heal is wasted. His evade+def boost has longer cooldown than his taunt, which means that you'll usually want to hold the taunt for a turn even when it's ready to use. And in my opinion, George's 40% def boost is better than D'Eon's 1 turn evade + 16% def boost, except for specific situations where you want to tank single-target NPs, in which case you yet again need to hold back on using his taunt and def+ skill.

Blargh, I hate this.. I finally get enough Dragon Fangs and now I have to figure out if I want to Ascend SAlter, Martha, or Elisabeth. It'll take me ages to get more. I'm not exactly hurting for Sabers as I have a level 70 Altera, but SAlter just feels like a better option than the other two for some reason.

I suddenly have multiple Lvl.90 Wavers on my friends list. I know not from whence they came, but they are most welcome. I just bumped Hans Anderson to his first ascension. Is he any good later on? I never used him on my JP account.

Like I bet that JP veterans would look at this as being rather cute that I'd feel this way, but I feel like that to make grinding even slightly tolerable they should have had Monster Hunting a). never drop XP/QP and b). every enemy is guaranteed to drop something, not just the final one. It's this bad now without even taking skill level ups into consideration, I can't understand how any of it could be considered remotely OK especially once your reservoir of servants starts to balloon.

That's the real kicker, the game design can't seem to decide whether it wants you to raise a diverse cast to hit all the interludes (In which case they should drop a large amount of low-level mats), or to focus on a core team to complete bigger challenges (In which case you'd want to be able to work towards specific material goals). Right now you can't realistically aim for either.

That becomes much harder when they change the dailies, but then the new ones are at least slightly better for the specific material goals side. Usually.

I think the intent is that low AP is for common mats, high AP for rarer mats; it just doesn't work out that well. Supposedly the class specific quests we later are better about that, though you'll still be looking to event shops for a quick pile of stuff.
