People say cats are stupid, but I think they've got human constructions figured out pretty well compared to other animals. You rarely see them running into glass doors, either.

The cat I had growing up could open doors with door knobs. I'm still not sure how since I was always on the other side. I'm just glad he never wanted to go outside.

In the wild many ducks nest in trees and when it's time for the ducklings to enter the water they just jump out of the tree and bounce on the ground. Granted its probably softer than concrete but the ducklings would have no problem with falling from that height https://youtu.be/bDJw43BJtCE
