"Ah," Ratz had said, at last, "the artiste."
Was this the thread where people argued about Dishonored's morality for like twenty pages? Because it intrigued me to think it had that kind of shades-of-grey thing going on and made me finally get around to playing it...And then at the end one of three good guys in the game almost literally says "hey thanks for being a good guy" and then you beat the game and enjoy the good guy ending.

I mean it was still a good time overall (the costume party and assassin fights were great) but I'm not sure if you people were just loving with me or what.

You didn't kill enough NPCs and got the low chaos ending. If you do, the guy calls you a murderous maniac, the final confrontation unfolds differently, and the ending cinematic is much darker.

There's also the DLCs where you play as the guy you killed (or didn't) in mission 7 who's ostensibly the villain.

I've seen fun you people wouldn't believe.

They did that for RDR too, even moreso since it was like really long videos with a narrator explaining stuff like posses, activities, etc.

Tried playing Infamous: First Light immediately after Second Son and I hate it. I don't get the love for it. It's like they took Second Son and removed all the fun from it.

The powerup tokens are even more obnoxious to get since most of them are gotten from racing challenges (the worst kind of minigame in any game) and the ones that aren't usually require tricky jumps to get to. The only other minigame is the graffiti minigame, which is far more annoying than the ones in Second Son because the Sixaxis controls are much more twitchy for some reason.

The main campaign has escort missions, even! But what made me quit is a main mission where you're standing on a building shooting at approximately one trillion guys on the ground who are all shooting back. That wouldn't be so bad, but you're rooted in place and can't dodge or even move at all because reasons. What the gently caress?

It's good in its own right, and you'll get a little bonus in TPP for accomplishing a certain thing in GZ and then doing some link your save thing in the menus.

Yes, play it. It feeds directly into Phantom Pain and kind of explains how Snake ended up where he did at the beginning of PP.

Manatee Cannon

the opening of phantom pain won't make sense to you without ground zeroes, but either way you should play it first because it can be beaten in under an hour

it gets longer if you do all the other missions and side stuff but the main mission is really short and all you need for context

Yeah I am about finished with Second Son after beating First Light beforehand and everyone talking about Neon as the be all//end all but it's definitely the lamest power set in Delsin's article. Infinite Super Speed is nice but I already played through Infamous I/II and Neon seems like it's just "Cole's Electricity but Pink" where as smoke is just dope visual effects 24/7and Video was basically their dicking around debug menu installed into the game.

Basically Neon sucks and OH YEAH I finally forced myself through my 2nd Neir Automata playthrough and I can safely say that it seems cool where the 3rd is headed but holy poo poo the gameplay in this game is the very definition of tedious. Tedious gameplay works in RPGs sometimes but when every fight is "mash simple combo or hold triangle, 3 seconds of bullet hell, win fight" for like 11-16 hours before he game really starts spicing it up or doing interesting things...

I am as big of a "Games are Art!" jabroni as it gets but Neir's appeal from a gameplay perspective is overstated, but the caveat is just that I never expected something this stripped down from Platinum. The only way to make combat interesting is by hunting down every hidden pod command module and maxing cool down so I can actually do cool stuff to enemies besides just hit them or hack them, and you really have to go out of your way to do either of those things.

I'm wondering if GTAV's character-swapping mechanic will be at play, if only because main dude seems unrepentantly psychotic. Nothing wrong with that, but it seems like Rockstar has two speeds in these games - well-meaning murderer trying to turn over a new leaf and crazy man.

Either way, the environments and animations look really, really good and it's going to be a long wait.
