If I'm being honest I think it's more that Judge is the rookie and got his award vs. Altuve as the veteran.

If Altuve were the rookie and Judge the five year vet it probably would have swung the other way.

Edit: Yeah lets move on to....oh boy the Mariners traded for that mediocre first baseman yesterday! Wow what a...deal? *shrug*

I do think Judge being the clear and unanimous RoY by the All-Star Break did factor in, since hey at least he was gonna get something.

I think so too. Wouldn't surprise me if "Judge is still young, he'll get one eventually" was the deciding factor for quite a few voters.
