I wonder how he got his cats to perform so well. I'm guessing fishing line for the "spook" jump, just like for the rocking of the chair, but the cat on the couch swatting at stuff is pretty impressive if he trained it to do that. He even rented a hearse! Dude is dedicated to the narrative.

It's a cat. :catstare: Just leave the security camera running and eventually the cat will do something weird. It might take a few days to get something good if his cats are especially lazy, but he's not on a schedule.

I thought most six gill sharks had little parasitic worms eating away at their eyes because they're basically useless down that deep.

Greenland sharks tend to have that.

I had a 2 meter sixgill bump me once during a safety stop on a night dive, at first I thought it was my buddy. Only then did I notice my buddy frantically signaling me to turn around.

To say I was surprised would be putting it mildly.

Even as an apex predator, I thought Greenland sharks were mostly harmless because despite being gigantic, they're pretty slow bottom feeders?

Ah neat, that certainly makes more sense.
It still looks freaky as all hell though.

They too busy being old as gently caress to do anything.

Probably spend their time complaining about remoras playing in their front yard, or how salmon sure swear a lot these days, or how it was better back when bass knew their place in society if you know what I mean.

Blue Planet 2 had a segment on sixgills in their The Deep episode a week or so ago. They're not so cute when they're ripping chunks of flesh from a whale carcass.

Well, I meant in the episode itself, I didn't watch the video but it was the behind the scenes anyway.

That's very obviously from one of the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books.

And it looks like they just re-released a box set compilation, restoring the original artwork of Stephen Gammell after the previous edition had them replaced.

I had no idea that they re-released them. Thank you, ordered a set so when my son is older he can scare the crap out of himself like I did.

Is there a genuine, official version of the lyrics? Because the version we sang as kids was totally different:

The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out,
the worms play pinochle in your snout,
So don't you laugh when the hearse goes by,
'cause you might be the next to die.

You start to turn a moldy green,
the pus runs out like whipping cream,
so don't you laugh when the hearse goes by,
'cause you might be the next to die.

I'm guessing everyone had their own variations.

It's an old song. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hearse_Song
My grandfather used to sing it with me. He remembered singing it in his childhood, and he would be nearing 100 now. There's been a lot of time for variations to crop up. I don't think there's anything official about it, it's an old war song that kids adopted as their own.

Those verses are also in the book. I remember not knowing what pinochle was and also the gruesome vivid imagery of pus like whipping cream
