Vance does not seem to be a good head coach, but he inherited a tire fire of an o-line and QB corp. That said, the defense is also getting older and has been playing pretty lovely on top of that. I don't think he gets fired this year but unless the offense unfucks itself next year he's gone.

He survives by hiring coordinators that no one wants to bother even checking out as a potential head coach.

JDR will fire at least 2 more coordinators (Downing, Pagano) before his tenure with the Raiders is up, imo.

I don't think he is out after this year unless it gets ugly, which is possible considering how hosed this defense is.

Kubiak might have quit to avoid literally being killed by coaching so there's that.

Fox and Elway "mutually parted ways"

Kubiak retired due to "health reasons" but I think there was more to it than that

I hope teams start looking at young coordinators and successful college guys because jfc these retreads need to stay out of the league forever. I think McAdoo definitely got in over his head when the losing streak happened because he was fine as OC; basically, I think that if a guy has failed with two or more teams he doesn't deserve any more chances

I feel like to be an NFL coach there has to be some oversized ego at work, so there's probably someone out there who thinks he can be the one to turn the Browns around

If they offer them unlimited power and the biggest paycheck in the NFL it would be no big deal IMO.

Otherwise it'll be C+ grade coordinators all the way down.

In 2016, only one guy got hired who had more than one head coaching job before (Mularkey). In 2017 every coaching hire was new. So they're doing that.

I mean also, even if it's the Browns, it's one of 32 of the top jobs in your profession. And even if you fail (you will), it's the Browns so you'll probably land with some sort of a job as a coordinator or position coach unless you seriously hosed up.

Davis is strapped with a relocation fee coming up and JDR just got an extension coming off a playoff appearance.

He's in no danger.

A new coach will have the #1 overall pick (their choice of QB) and another high/mid 1st round pick plus many more to work with. It would be an attractive position if not for the felon owner.

1) Yank and evict a pile of escorts from a hotel room. Give them Uber rides. Expense report it.

2) Make a pot of coffee.

3) Wake Irsay up from a drunken/drug fueled stupor and explain how the team is performing. Inform him Luck is hosed.

4) Place a reminder on Irsay's calendar to meet with him the following day to explain the previous items in his office.

That just might do it.
