Interesting that Joe Roots reaction was to punch a door, serious anger management issues in the English dressing room

Can they call Stoneman back after he's left the field? I thought they couldn't, so why were they checking again? I don't think he was out

It was probably out, but that evidence was nowhere near convincing enough to overturn the on field call under the usual DRS conventions

I’m watching on mute but t looked like it hit the glove that wasn’t on the bat?

Yeah, if they shrugged and said it's inconclusive, I would have been fine with it.

Smorgasbord posted:It was probably out, but that evidence was nowhere near convincing enough to overturn the on field call under the usual DRS conventions Yeah I agree. The reverse angle certainly look liked it hit his top glove on the handle and there was the noise past the gloves. I would be annoyed if an Australian copped it but also umpires are giving out caught behinds on snicko quite regularly so its not anything outside of the norm either.

Mitch Marsh still hasn't bowled - specialist batsman?

Can you bet on failed DRS reviews? Assuming you can, it’s gotta be Watson. Though I dunno who’d give you decent odds against Watson being out lbw/reviewed/failed.

england showing a bit of fight here, which is weird because the australian media has spent the time between tests telling me they were completely mentally destroyed and ready to head home

I'm at the ground at the moment and man the Australian attack looks really pedestrian, since they got Stoneman out they have been ordinary

EMC posted:I'm at the ground at the moment and man the Australian attack looks really pedestrian, since they got Stoneman out they have been ordinary They have been alright. The carry is gone from the ball. Starc is trying to conjure up some reverse swing but its not doing a lot. I think its a pitch that you ideally want a lot of wickets with the new ball. England have earned the right to wack around the dead ball for a bit.

Problem is, England will be 280ish for four when the new ball comes, but two quick wickets and their 300 for six with the long juicy tail exposed to the quicks with a new ball and break to rest up. There's a ton of potential Englanding available here.

Smith replaces MMarsh with himself. Which of these is the All-Rounder? edit: It was changing ends for MMarsh. That'll put the fear of god into the batsmen with teh 100+ partnership. BrigadierSensible fucked around with this message at 10:13 on Dec 14, 2017 |

there's also a good chance starc and cummins break down and can't play the rest of the series.

I just don't get how a curator can think a pitch like this will provide 5 days of entertaining cricket. It forces the fielding team into being so negative when the best cricket is when both sides are attacking.

Yeah I know advertising revenue is more important than entertaining cricket its just kinda poo poo and really making the Australian test summer boring. I mean England might put us under some scoreboard pressure and we collapse in an entertaining way I guess.
