He was Wendy's boyfriend, there was an entire episode about him using music with evil backmasking mind control to make her fall in love with him.

I'm still surprised by the lack of awareness of Snowfall. It's a little generic since we've seen the drug selling arc before, but I thought it showed some interesting touches and relatively new hooks for people to latch on. Seemed like a lot more fun than Narcs anyway.

edit: its also nice to see a mostly minority cast show that doesn't fall into stereotypes. It also seemed pretty smart about explaining how the drug trade worked, and loved the surprise Method Man appearance.

I followed the reviews for Snowfall because it seemed like extremely my poo poo and I think it got hurt because it played a very long game, and the initial episodes were poorly reviewed. After the season ended I saw several critics go, hmm actually, taken as a whole, this was good.

I agree. If this had come out before Futureman, I would've probably liked it a lot more. The self deprecating humor of JCVD did have my laughing a lot though.

Yeah it took its time and avoided some of the more explosive aspects of the genre (no running gun battles and poo poo) but I thought it was a nice character piece, and each episode did a good job of highlighting someone else. It's not the best thing around, but I certainly enjoyed watching it.

edit: also it looks really really nice

edit 2: and shows how hosed up the CIA was too

The series didn't end up being quite as great as the pilot indicated, but I still thought it was good enough that I binged it. Futureman is the better show but not by that much.

Speaking of Amazon and pilots, they passed on literally all their comedy pilots this year (presumably because of their pivot to prestige shows and Bezos' stated intent to find the next Game of Thrones).

A little surprised they didn't wait until their new leadership was in place to decide, but then the likelihood is they would have cancelled it anyway. With the Fox women seemingly the clear front runners to get the job, they apparently aren't out of contract until the summer anyway.

I have never seen the show until last night, but I wish they didn't have any American announcers. They are by far the worst announcers (so far the French and Italian are the best, because they play off each other).

Anyone would be a downgrade from Terry Crews, to be fair. I've only seen s2e1, but I hope the French/Italian announcer rivalry continues. Also the China announcers are a huge downgrade from Korea last year.

The Beast looks better though! Stage 4 is amazingly improved. It's not so bad I'm gonna stop putting it on in the background.

Based on the interview, The Rock, as a producer on the movie, decided to give his character a smolder. If it's ineffective in the movie, then okay, the joke works. But in the interview, it was brought up as something actually sexy and that's all we have to go on.

He also had trouble taking a lot of Kevin Hart's jokes. I wonder if the atrocious performance of Baywatch had made him defensive.
