This was a pretty good livestream, though the content was painfully bland. Not as good as the stream with the wheels coming off, but decent enough.

But, now CIG is going dark until late January, so have fun everyone.

But they looked away so you couldnt see the ship debris explode. You could see the smoke/light explosions, little else.
Nice way to prevent slowdown if you dont look at the physic objects.

Oh, was it? I must've been too disengaged with the story to realize.

Still not clear how the story went from fuel barge theft, to talking to a salvager, to shooting whoever, to a splinter cell hostage rescue.

God, picture how hard it's going to be to maneuver that thing around. You'd constantly be getting hung up on rocks and doodads, probably shortly before the physics engine flings you into space/through the planets geometry.

Brilliant, absolutely Brilliant. I had very high (some would say unrealistic) expectations for tonight, but CIG went far above and beyond them. The sublime visuals and atmosphere. More Star Power in a single mission than in most modern movies. The seamless transition from space to planet surface to abandoned space. Now they just need to finish optimizing the engine and we'll probably have one of the greatest games ever made on our hands.

I'm sure the crybabies will still go on about bu... bu.. but the skybox, the hidden load screens, the motion capture will never work! and so on because after 3 years of crying and shouting they can't admit they were wrong. Now even their final argument (SQ42 doesn't exist!) is gone.

They made the tank huge just so you could walk around in it. Rather than just make it realistically sized and you just get in through a hatch like non-retarded tanks. Also apparently tanks don't need ground clearance or room for the suspension to move.

gently caress, I've seen smarter tank designs from Warhammer 40k.

You guys are missing the point.

The point isn't to make a functional thing for a fun combat video game.

The point is to get you to buy cool looking jpegs.

I was actually surprised by how much of it was just moving silently. No talking, nothing like that. Just silently burning 5 minutes while the environment moved around you.

i know that cod and bf and the like are console garbage not worthy of consideration, but they at least have the presence of mind to break up any long movement sequences with squad chatter, dialouge or interesting environmental cues to look at
