14 straight games for the Bruins earning at least a point (10-0-4) and they're 14-2-4 since December 1. That's pretty good.

That SEAL list doesn't have Liljegren on it so therefore I think it's stupid. Also no Makar or any other defenseman besides Heiskanen in the top 13 or really more like 15 considering the lack of KHL players?

eXXon posted:That SEAL list doesn't have Liljegren on it so therefore I think it's stupid. Also no Makar or any other defenseman besides Heiskanen in the top 13 or really more like 15 considering the lack of KHL players? SEAL isn't a ranking of the best prospects, just those having the best seasons from a statistical perspective. Makar is an excellent prospect having a good season in College, but there are a number of players having far gaudier ones (Petterrson, Heponiemi, Tippett and Frost spring to mind) so as he's below a PPG he gets bumped down. Liljegren is a similar case, but a lesser prospect having a lesser season. SEAL also isn't going to highlight defensive defencemen simply because they don't put up gaudy point totals by definition. SEAL is about comparing scoring across ages and leagues. Liljegren and Makar are fine prospects in their own right, but this isn't the system to use to quantify that.

Hand Knit posted:It would be nice if this applied to Liljegren. He's a skating defenceman with a good breakout pass, but he's not going to be a top tier offensive guy in the NHL. I guess 'defensive defenceman' in the sense of "not a huge point getting type like Karlsson or Subban." He's one of those middle pairing offensive guys like Gardiner or Del Zotto. He's not going to set the world on fire offensively at any level which is what that top SEAL prospects list is highlighting.
