I've been thinking. The Rangers had to do something but I feel like getting Cody McLeod is probably the worst thing they could've done.

I also enjoy him putting out a defense piece yesterday before it was even published.

I think it's also because his business is a relative outlier in an industry that's grappling with how to publish and where to go, which affects more than just Pittsburgh. Plus there's also the way reporting of sexual misconduct is actually happening and he's an employer that propositioned a prospective journalist to a threesome with the promise of "exposure" if she did which is gross and dovetails with the national discussion. It's a cautionary tale about startup culture and vulnerable people in an industry where desperation is increasing.

Yeah that looked painful. Hopefully not too serious.

Also Ovechkin is having his best season in a while. He cut some weight and worked on his skating and has looked quicker all year. He’s on pace for 50 goals and like 40 assists all while Backstrom is having a down year. He has a legitimate shot at 800 goals by the end of his career which is insane.

Yeah DK did legitimately come up with a good idea for his website. He basically pioneered the model for the Athletic, just in a single city, and he was successful enough at it that he could probably have rode that gravy train for quite a while if he wasn't such a piece of poo poo. I feel like a jackass for having subscribed to his site at one point but I cancelled when Yohe was scooped up by the Athletic. I didn't expect things to be this bad but it was pretty obvious that he was a volatile prima donna for a pretty long time now.

Sadly I think his website will probably continue on as long as he cares to put in the work because at the end of the day he can just scale things back to covering teams and writing columns himself and letting his wife do the website. I don't know if teams revoke press credentials over this kind of stuff (I'm guessing no) or how much access he even needs to cover these teams.

We all want this but I just heard on TSN that Babcock plans on putting Komarov back on Kadri's wing next home game :( Maybe he'll change his mind, not like he hasn't said one thing to the media and done another before.. but he's a stubborn stubborn man. I suppose he could move Marleau to another line to make room for Marner but I dunno, I doubt that.

Also super enjoying the McDavid telling the refs to suck it and getting a game miscondo for it. That was such an awful call after the poo poo the ducks got/get away with in the playoffs last year and having seen them get away with it again earlier this year.

I really don't get buffalo. I haven't been following them closely enough for the last few years but on paper they seem to have a really solid core of young forwards, Lehner never seemed terrible to me, and I guess the d is pretty suspect, but I have a hard time figuring how their just loving awful this year.

I guess not a great d corps, not great depth, and unlucky at times... but still, 37 points in 49 games (and 31 in 46 before their little streak).

Speaking of the Canucks, Luca Sbisa is having a career year with 10 points in 24 games with Vegas, along with a team-worst CF% below 44%, a full 4% worse than the next lowest player (Cody Eakin) and 8% worse than the team average of ~52%.
