Origin was sold to EA to survive, but luckily WC was a hit, despite taking several expansion packs to break even. After failing at making interactive movies he left EA and formed Digital Anvil where more cash and goodwill was burnt leading to its crash and bailout by Microsoft and soon bad movie deals killed the rest. Came on with Digital Anvil and did ok with stuff like Lord of War, (as Ascendant Pictures/Rising Star Pictures, a "modelling" agency) only to gently caress up with a deal on a Kevin Costner project which sued and sank the boat and Chris' finances. Seemed to become a strip mall lawyer before coming on with SC. Good at the shell game. Disco Lando Convicted and also lies about running a baseball team that never heard of him. Ben Wing Commander collector and insufferable fan who spent his youth creating his online fiefdom around the game, and hoarded original game assets. Do you think the people who converted whole rooms into Space Citizen dungeons have converted them back, or are still trying to keep them in mint condition for release?

At first I bought into the whole “Erin Roberts is actually competent and might help produce something approaching a game at some point” but I think his career for the last ten years has been reskinning Lego games which primarily consists of “okay change Luke Skywalker to Batman and hire some voice actors.”

I wish I had saved it but in the original thread, sometime during the first year of development, someone made a custom controller thing. They took apart some gaming mouse/keyboard thing (really wanna say it was a nostromo gaming pad) and used some kind of prototyping plastic that you could sculpt when you heated it up to fashion it into The Perfect Ship Controller. They had already imagined fully how the turrets and weapons and ship controls worked, so obviously needed a controller before the game even dropped.

this thread is like a microcosm of poo poo so from what i can tell, star citizen is in the stage where everyone is wanting ~immersive details~. and the ships have toilets for ~immersion~, so it's fine that it has quote:Making a game inviting to females has to be a consciously made choice if it is to work. If you don't make a conscious effort to take of both genders into consideration, you will do things like the toilets without doors. They might seem like a fun and innocent idea at first: the rough and ready crew don't have time for inconsequentials like toilet doors, they have a firefight to prepare for! But it is only fun unless you are a female player in an otherwise all male ship and a game mechanic forces you to drop your panties in full view of the boys. Then it is just uncomfortable and demeaning, and will quickly move you along to a different game. on it's own, it's pretty bad and funny because toilets. but again, there is no loving game here, besides thinking about how cool a ship with toilets is going to be to immerse in, and how they'll go to the toilet in the game. like, they made the models and everything. most of the poo poo that's just thinking about the inconsequential details of their toy spaceships is just as dumb and a waste of time. yet half the comments are fragile little boys feeling threatened because the existence of girls is a political issue, and considering their opinions diminishes their fantasy game that does not exist. someone even starts whining about how horrible it is that trans people exist for no reason. i get the impression ellindor is not so much of an outlier here.
