I walked in the door about 30 minutes ago and when I checked my mailbox there was a white envelope bearing the logo of my employer. Considering that tax time is coming I thought maybe it was my T4 (Canuckistani W2) or something else important becuase my employer rarely sends out mail other than T4s (paystubs are emailed), and only if you don't pick it up at work. Inside was a solitication promising me up to 30% off* home and auto insurance. *Must drive at least 1000km in 100 days I'm loving livid and am considering going in tomorrow, during my week off, to let HR know that I find this completely unacceptable.

Like, I get that it's a group insurance thing, ostensibly as part of my benefits package, though when I was given all the information about my benefits this particular bit was not included. I should not be finding out about it via a loving marketing letter. Also, it's through Desjardins, and lol, I already know they won't insure 2/3rds of my fleet.

I finally got to talk to the doctor about my shoulder today after getting an mri done. He seemed genuinely surprised I didn't tear my rotator cuff, just severely bruised it. He flat out said he would have bet money on it being torn after seeing me the first time. If in another 3 weeks I haven't fully healed, I need to go back and talk to him about physical therapy. So yay, I don't need to get chopped up again. I've got enough scars on that side of my body as is.

Yeah, sports seats can be hella uncomfortable if you're fat, but that aside, a Fiesta cabin shouldn't be that bad.

I found the facelifted fiesta, including the ST, to be pretty reasonable. I drive non-St fiestas as rental cars pretty often (and have auto-xed an ST). It isn't as spacious as my 13 mazda 2. The pre-facelift fiesta didn't work for me, the center console interferes with my legs. I'm 6'4" though.

I physically fit in them, and could do short distances or a race or something. It's not the fat part that hurts, it's the fact that they legit dig the gently caress in at my hips, and my shoulders have no freedom to move. I've fit in other Recaros just fine, but for some reason the FiST and FoST seats are misery. One of my friends is 6'4 and maybe 165, and he has the same complaint out of them.

Does anyone have advice on what to do with your phone in the car? My new one has apple car play but it has to be plugged in and it just seems "not right" to just have the iPhone plugged in laying out on the seat or stuck upside down in a cupholder Edit: but wow being gable to have navigation on the big screen in a cheap car is pretty awesome

Keeps it out of the way but still easy to grab and go. It does mean you have to stick the included metal plate to your phone's case, though (I didn't care, but some might). It's also cool that if I'm going on a trip, I can just grab it before I leave and use it in whatever car I end up with (and it doubles as a phone stand).
