This feeder has worked flawlessly for 6 years now for me: https://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-5-Meal-Automatic-Dispenses-Digital/dp/B000GEWHNS/ I just fill it with scoops of dry food and it lasts a week. Takes big D cell batteries though so be sure to dig some of those out. I like the simplicity in that there really isn't anything to jam or get stuck like with a screw type feeder.

i had an ex whose cat would almost exclusively drink from the faucet. i'm lucky that leo and cj seem happy to drink from their water bowl, but they tend to not like it as much after it drops below 75% full.

A lot of cats prefer running water. I got one of these cat fountains for the kittens and they love it. You don't have to buy the official filters, just buy some pond filter wool and activated charcoal granules and you can re-fill it yourself. we had a tortie we got when I was in high school, it lived to be 19 me and my sister would always stop on the way out the door to rub the little white stripe on her head for good luck it went completely stone deaf somewhere in its last few years which was a net positive because it stopped being scared of the vacuum good cat
