Spooner is probably the best player moving in this trade. Good thing for the bruins that rick Nash is known for his playoff performances. I’m sorry. I can’t type and laugh.

I gotta say, the Bruins love affair with Riley Nash is giving me some serious Chris Kelly flashbacks and I fuckin' hate it

well, at 1/2 his original cap hit he moves into merely "hilariously overpaid" territory, so

I would think that the Rangers could maybe extract a bit more for absorbing Beleskey. Though I guess otherwise it's a pretty steep price for a forward who hasn't cracked 40 points since 14-15.

That's a good trade. Good job Jeff. Beleksy is a warm body for the rebuild and 50% retained goes a long way.

I'm gonna miss Big Dick Rick. If Zucc stays put I'm probably going to bandwagon Boston.

It is properly welcoming and surreal watching the Rangers as sellers instead of making it rain draft picks on some other team in order to acquire a guy on the back nine of his career under the guise of 'goin for it!'

Also true. But I want to see Big Dick Rick hoist the cup.

ThinkTank

The Rangers got almost as much for washed up rental Nash than they did for prime of his career Nash six years ago.

Then: Nash, Delisle and a 3rd (which became Buchnevich) for Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixon and a 1st.

i really don't care whether any ranger i've ever liked gets to hoist the cup anywhere else in their career and will never care about that unless lundqvist gets traded so bruins please feel free to lose to toronto in the first round

is this only the second time this century this has happened

Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Goaltender Carey Price was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice.
that's a great haul for Nash, someone wake up Goldblum and tell him to pull his once-a-season magic to get a king's ransom for Pacioretty
Then Shea Weber, while he's at it

Oh sorry, I forgot defensively-sound forwards who score 40 points were worth that kind of return.

I guess it’s a risk worth taking that he finds a time machine and finds his production again.

Hmmm, I'm fine with that trade. Spooners been hot and cold and it's always been tough to see how he fits in long term with this team. Losing Beleskey is great, the first round pick is whatever.
