I was very much in the 'I don't like or trust 02' camp but her goofy trolling this episode, especially the big grin as she takes off with everyone's clothing, has softened my opinion of her a bit.

Her behavior makes a lot of sense considering that all other previous partners died very quickly, and it seems like the rest of her previous teams didn't last much longer, and also all the adults think she's a monster. That's not the kind of life that would lead someone to easily make genuine emotional connections.

She out and out said it this episode, they're all gonna die, even the clothes stealing was just a bit of fun in the time they have left.

Thanks to the power of metaphor, everyone being completely comfortable and attuned to each other can result in a giant FRANXX without everyone having to literally be okay with penetration.

She's totally dead. They just lied to the kids about her survival. No one's visited her, gotten a call or letter from her, and even though she's supposed to be in the hospital there was no sign of her there when Miroshi was laid up after Two hosed him up.

She's dead and Hiro 's dream shows that at least subconsciously, he knows it.

(On an unrelated note, I never noticed until the latest episode just how short Ichigo is until now. I always kinda thought of her being around Kokoro's height, but no. She's even shorter than Miku.)

I loved how when 02 threw all the laundry at Hiro, and he was fighting to get it out of his face, Hiro just started cracking up. It just felt so genuine. They really do have great chemistry together.

Yeah this theory's been brought up before (both the 'died in the fight' and the 'was dumped into an incinerator for being a failure' versions). I'm not sure how much time is supposed to have passed between then and the current stuff, it may only have been a few days and there have been a fair few attacks so maybe they haven't had the chance to visit? Then again APE probably wants to keep the parasites separate from the 'normies' and wouldn't allow them out (I gather Dr FranXX had to call in favours etc. to get them the beach holiday). Mitsuru may have gone to a different hospital. I also doubt Naomi would be the one to visit or send letters in any case as she's the one who was ejected from the group and would likely still be in pain from that.

I'm not sure if Hiro subconsciously knows she's dead, I think that scene was more about him re-living the moments before piloting with 02 the first time.

I'd still like a scene/episode with Hiro wanting to go visit her, possibly breaking out of the birdcage with 02 to do it, mainly to force the truth to be revealed.
