Yeah Jim and Sam have no chemistry and Sam genuinely brings nothing to the table. Jim is super disinterested in the show, and Sam thinks he the future of Radio when his only passion is wrestling.

My problem with Sam is that he's very consciously trying to swing his dick around and be the big man in the room ala Howard Stern, Ron Bennington or Anthony in his prime, but because he's been around since an intern it just rings false to me as a long time listener. It's not that he's even that bad at it (I mean he's nowhere the talent of the guys I listed above), but I just can't take it seriously. To me he's the classic case of the guy at your company who worked his way up from scrub employee to upper-middle management -- he has the title but only new people respect his authority because those have been around for a while know what a little poo poo that dude used to be.

a lot of the really compelling old o&a stuff was either based around comedians interacting, or on playing with the radio format (replaying old o&a or jocktober). so it makes sense that jim and sam would stop doing all of that so they can have athletes and porn stars in every day

Eh, I liked Nick even if his show could be a bit one note. At least he wasn't as middle of the road as Norton and Sam or as loving objectively awful as Ellis or the Scottish guy that can't do radio or Covino and Riches Mornin' Attitude hackfest. The channel line up was poor already and they just got rid of the only show that actually had its own voice.
