The quickswitch dance between the Falchion and Pistols with the Hunter trait on BH Saltz is one of the most badass fighting styles you can have in this game.
Yeah, I've been doing something similar with the volleybow and I keep feeling guilty that its not the pistols because they're just so much more stylish than ugly-as-poo poo bow. If they had more penetration, ammo, or anything really, they'd be so much more useful. Its still weird to me that a bullet has less horde penetration than a crossbow bolt, but whatever.

Trust me, it feels so loving badass when you're slicing through a mob with your machete, then whip out a quick pistol shot to instantly down a Mauler. Also great for proccing the power buff from Hunter on a Chaos Warrior, then going to town on his tin can suit.

Fun fact: did you know the Hunter buffs for different armor classes stack? Yeah, you can have a 25% power buff against both soft and hard targets at the same time.

So the pick is faster and way less awkward to swing around on light attacks now. It's actually worth mining some rat skulls again.

I think you may have just given me my next weapon project, considering that I tried out the Blacksmith's Pick on Champ and even while missing some 60-odd Hero Power from max, it was doing surprisingly well against both Chaos and Skaven hordes. Might put it on my Ranger, see if it can take the place of the Axe and Shield.

New Conflag staff damage feels good, though it takes forever to charge. I tried going Battle Wizard for the increased charge speed, and it felt pretty great, though then I was stuck with an inferior class ability in the fire walk.

The pick's problem was it was slow and you had to commit like crazy to the swings, with a long dead-time between them, while it didn't do a huge amount of damage but had drat near infinite Cleave until it hit someone with armor or lots of fat. Now that you can keep moving a bit while swinging it and they reduced the per-swing dead-time it has an actual job.

I gotten the quick play bonus from lobby games.

I highly recommend in progress lobby games. I've joined games at the loss screen for free exp. I joined one game where three people were already dead right after crossing the hay field. We eventually stabilized and won after fighting against the angriest director. It's great fun.

this might be bullshit but i tried it as dwarf for the first time last night and it worked for me: look straight up while you're jumping.

the real "trick" insofar as there's any trick to it besides nuffle's saving grace is you can run a fraction of a inch longer than you think off the crate to make the lampost jump. after that they're pretty straightforward

I'll give that a shot. I can make pretty much every jump in the game except War-Camp pole-jumps as Dwarf, and Empire in Flames as anything (especially not Dwarf, came closer with others tho for some reason)

Because I'm the kind of loser who actually reads a bit of the lore now and again.... Saltzpyre does indeed have his moments, particularly towards Sienna and Kruber. In the first game he met both of them under circumstances that demonstrated he wasn't such a bad guy, albeit very indirectly; he was taking Sienna to Ubersreik as a prisoner to stand trial, but it's strongly implied that he was doing so because he believed she'd never get a fair judgement otherwise.

Likewise, upon reaching Kruber's regiment he heard the story of how Kruber lost his entire unit to a necromancer, became depressed, requested leave to visit his family, and had his request denied by his superiors. Saltzpyre then pulled rank and requisitioned Kruber as a guard to join him in escorting Sienna to Ubersreik... Ubersreik being where Kruber's family lived.

I'd only recommend the warpick on either slayer or ranger--its a fun weapon until you gently caress up then its a horrible weapon that's gonna get you killed unless you have an out. Slayer has increased attack speed which can make it a loving dream with swift slaying and a jumps speed boost. Ranger honestly shouldn't be diving into a melee alone he should be hugging another teammate and supporting them and you'll get a lot out of it when you smoke bomb. IB on the other hand doesn't have many abilities to fall back on besides just taking hits and he should be on the front line of melee at all times or he's a wasted spot.

The more i play slayer the more i can't go back to playing IB, once you get a handle on being a good slayer you just have so much more to offer. Ironbreaker is for when you're learning and it gives you bad habits but you'll stay alive. Slayer played well is an amazing asset to his team chewing through chaos warriors and SV like they're paper. The only time to play IB as bardin is when the rest of your team is going DPS then you can sit back, carry a grim and enjoy the ride.

Seek & Destroy doesn't seem to work, tbh, you can write that one off. I never noticed an increase on mine.

HBFS on the other hand is the one that's a bitch. Practically everyone's in danger of getting 1-shot, especially by skating maulers & chaos warriors who slide up and sweep everyone down like a lawn mower. Berserkers are #1 threat. If one of them shows up at any point and nobody sees it coming, group can easily get wiped in less than a second.

I really got to give kudos to the developers for how well they made the melee weapons feel, using the pickaxe and the way it feels like it sticks in something you dig into with the overhead whomp is so, so satisfying.

So many of the melee weapons have that good "feel" to them where it feels like it's connecting from the pickaxe to warhammer or sienna's sauron mace or the glaive chunking in the side of armored enemies and so on, I hope bethesda is taking notes for their future games so their melee doesn't feel like waving the weapon around in front of you without the enemy really caring until the health bar is depleted.

Absolutely. The direct game feedback in terms of animation, camera and sounddesign is marvelous and very satisfying. That is also true for most ranged weapons.

S-So I was joking about the new Meta I found before but I think maybe I have found something. Crit on cooldown Flamestorm barely generates any heat at all, and this makes it quite frightening as a staff for Unchained specifically. Who suddenly has mass fire damage while not building heat. While also being safer in circumstances it's dangerous to use the flamestorm in due to the class' design. Granted, I also found a good way to use the staff precisely cause I can ACTUALLY SEE WHAT IT IS DOING thanks to the red's glitch. Short bursts are best. It has ridiculous amounts of CC and kills slave rats almost instantly anyway. Shorter bursts leave you less open for being rushed down.

It's weird that they made the over-the-top comedy relief inquisitor a more nuanced character than the mysterious conflicted elf, could be someone putting their foot down and demanding fidelity to the lore of wood elves being assholes.

Sienna is weirdly a good person too, especially when you listen to her lines in Empire In Flames (the same map where Kerillian talks about burning human bodies smelling primitive). It does make sense when you consider her backstory.
