Am I wrong? 3500 would be quite a high price for it at auction but assuming they did that's a final price of $6500, much less than their listed price. Keep in mind that Japanese Classics doesn't do anything to their cars. My Acty van I bought from them had worn brakes, bad tires and non-functional AC. They simply buy nice examples from auction and puts them up for sale.

Can I drive my Canadian licensed sub-25 year old JDM import into the USA without it being crushed into a cube? I know that Canada has more relaxed rules about importing foreign cars into the country than America does, but do these rules apply to the car simply being on the road (being registered in another country) as well?

By international treaty if a vehicle is legal in its country of registration, then signatory nations must allow it on their roads. Canada and the US are signatory nations. You're fine unless you attempt to import and register it in the States before it turns 25. E: IANAL

What's the JDM market looking like for 80 series Land Cruiser's with a turbo diesel? The legally imported ones I see occasionally for sale around here are north of 20k USD.

Aftermarket exhaust is visible, but the interior is ~100% stock. I can't see anything that doesn't look good, aside from the usual plastic discoloration on the bumper. The top looks fantastic.

A lot of them have that particular style, as the striped seats are pretty delicate. About 50% of the time they'll have 4 wheel drive, most of the time they will be diesels. I don't know about the resalability over here, seems like you'd have to specifically get one of the mostly-normal pickup truck body types then someone could just have a red pickup, otherwise there is some pretty severe modification someone would have to do in order to make a camper or whatever out of one.
