This took forever to finish because I realized I don't get lighting in this scenario at all. Like, if something is barely visible but really far away it doesn't suddenly become more clear in the dark if you light a candle. So still in the background should still be obscured, but it looks weird mixed with foreground stuff that is affected by the lighting. Would be a bigger issuer if I actually could draw complex pictures but it made me realize how poor my grasp on lighting can be.

gently caress I can't believe water density didn't occur to me at all. Its so obvious in retrospect. Thanks for pointing that out.

Every time I do a more involved picture I always overlook some important detail.

This is lovely; using India ink for the wash?

Not a drawing, but the instant I finished school a group I’m doing pro bono design for started freaking out at me about missed deadlines (because they weren’t on top of their poo poo). Anyway, this is a sketch I’m waiting on a thumbs up on:

Thanks! It's supercheap 'drawing ink', but I think it's basically the same stuff. When I do realist like that, it looks very 50s to me for some reason.

Liking the flyer design, very El Lissitsky in a good way.

Where did you find old mugshots? Also I love the vageness of 'iron'. In my head she's been caught at the last minute with 5 steam trains. :unsmith:

Wikimedia commons, the English prisoners section here:

There's also a good collection of American mugshots on the commons:

MY TREEEEEEEE!
Last night was the first night of the campaign, so there is sure to be more. All we did was make characters and run a little combat scenario to get them used to playing. The sisters managed to blast a crocodile to peices, though. I run a game every week, and and try to illustrate at least one scene.

If any D&D players are here, they're forest gnome sisters. One is a low charisma forest domain cleric, and the other is a cute-as-a-button wizard. We're doing the Princes of the Apocalypse campaign.

My idea of using my workstation again hasn't been working out at all -- I just don't have the energy to sit at my desk and work at 10 'o clock. Guess I'll have to move the drawing time ahead.

Anyway, today I decided to practise short hair styles, but I don't think I've got the hang of it yet.
