The mom has full custody, which is hilariously because one of his excuses for why he can't find a job is he was too busy being a dad. Of course being a dad means he took the kid skiing and fishing that one time.

My brother didnt work for 7 years and his excuse was "all of my money would go to child support". He ended up being thrown in jail, since theres a law in FL about that kind of poo poo. He also lived with my parents the whole time, would get custody of the kids every other weekend, and my parents would basically feed them. I dont talk to my brothers but from what I've heard, my brother eventually got a drat job when my parents sold their FL house and left the state. Leaving him to pick up his own bootstraps. I'm not saying that it would work in this situation but are there other states with the whole deadbeat parent law?

this is why we need MRAs there should be some way for men to opt out of child support. Like you give up all future rights to custody/visitation, and in return you don't have to pay child support

People that live with parents for extended periods of time tend to fall into two categories : Goony goons like this guy that don't do poo poo around the house nor use the opportunity to do anything productive People who actually contribute and /or make the most out of the opportunity. My wife and her sisters lived with their parents for quite some time but since everybody pulled their weight out was actually a net benefit. My stepbrothers lived with my mom and step-dad for several years after graduating college and used the opportunity to save up to buy houses in the bay area. But these seem like the exception to what happens most of the time.

In my country pretty much everyone that leaves home before their 30's either lives in an absolute hellhole while being prepared to pay for their new house for the next 20 years of their life or they were given their new house as a gift from their parents. That's why I'm unemployed and living like an overgrown leech.
