3 was such garbage i can't believe more people 'love' 3 than 4. I'm not saying you're not right, I just can't believe it.

If the game is on another engine, who knows if it will even be moddable, so I'm not ready to get all in a huff about that yet.

ehhh I think a lot more people liked it than you think, to be honest. It depends on the person. For example: I can't stand FO3 & FONV. Playing those two games just pisses me off. I know very well that each of those two games do things better than FO4; just not the things that *I* tend to care about.

Hello I am the contrarian rear end in a top hat who doesn't like New Vegas.

Like it wants to have the open world of 3 and the story of the first two, but it just feels lacking when compared indivudally.

I usually love the first half when you are looking after Benny and going to New Vegas in a roundabout way through the entire map doing evety sidequest on the way but when the game turns into the faction play I get incredibly bored because I just cannot care about any of these factions.

The DLCs are good and I wish the main plot would be the DLC overarching plot.

There's no way that leak is right, because there's no way that the creation engine could ever have multiplayer slapped onto it without making the host computer its installed on explode.

I liked both FO3 and New Vegas, NV is one of my favourite games and FO3 was not as good, but way better than 4 in my opinion.

I found 4’s level gated progression system frustratingly bland (want to pick a master lock? gently caress off til you’re level 30 or whatever) making it impossible to specialise your character in any meaningful way, I thought the weapon modding system just meant that actual unique weapons were bland too, while pushing me to become one of those hoarder players who picks up every bloody ashtray I see, which isn’t something I’d normally be interested in.

I didn't like the perk system either. Perks are cool when they add quirks and powerful effects to your character, not when they're used for mundane leveling.

Level gating the perks which replaced skills was such an insane decision. I don't like perks being level gated anyway, but at least it didn't matter much when you had skills to build your character with

I thought for sure they were going to use the challenge system from New Vegas to create a facsimile of the 'learn by doing' system from Skyrim, where by doing things like picking locks or shooting guns you'd earn perks to get better at those things over time, and level-up perks would continue to be powerful bonuses to help shape your character.

Have you checked out any of the crazy long critiques by people being critical of FO4? ALL of them are good. Videos anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours long of dudes who either HATE Fallout 4 or end up grudgingly liking it, and all of them are speaking from the context of RPG lovers. I binge watched a bunch of these videos when I was trying to figure out the legitimate reasons why people sperg about Fallout so much and why this spergery made them HATE FO4 when I thought it was. . . pretty fun. It helped me put that into context immensely. I recommend watching a few of these for the entertainment value.

I like Bethesda Fallout games because VATS makes it possible to play a FPS even if you can’t aim for poo poo. Online would make it unlikely to be included so this game probably won’t be for me especially if it’s PVP.

Nah, a lot of people still talk about 3 and New Vegas in particular has taken on a weird memetic quality, even outside of 'gamer' circles. I've seen people who barely play games talking about it on social media and stuff.

Fallout 4 really doesn't get talked about in that same way. I bet a lot more people played Fallout 4, but I'd also bet way more of them can't really remember it.

I want the intro to go like this: it's Reclamation Day. Vault opens as planned. Everything outside is horrible as all your vault people file out and immediately get assaulted by poo poo World they are ill equipped to survive in. You--the rear end in a top hat--turn right back around and seal yourself in--and them out, leaving them to fend for themselves. Which would explain why there's this five-year gap between it supposed to be opened, and it actually being opened. Perhaps the "abandoned" vault is because you literally abandoned them to their fate. Only leaving when you run out of chocolate pudding.

I'd love for the Player Character to just be a dick from the beginning with no set positive morality. Does your time stewing alone (or with a small group of ppl who stayed inside with you) change you for better or worse? And will the surviving people you left outside remember your face and hold a grudge? (probably.)

Also, wonder if there will be a Left 4 Dead type of group play, where even if you don't have enough players to fill the team, the rest is filled in with some mildly intelligent AI that gets the job done. (this is all assuming it's not what everyone's fearing/complaining that it will be.)

If I was doing these on PC I could probably make some utter madness. I'm too afraid to install on PC and start over though, I'd never stop.

So I probably shouldn't mention the script extender mod that lets you export a PC settlement to JSON. Or that it interacts with Sim Settlements to create city plan files as mini mods anyone can install, even without script extenders, to have settlers build out the plan as the settlement grows.
