I totally support Petrucci’s desire to write huge ridiculous concept albums but The Astonishing was the most extra poo poo in the world and I love Dream Theater. It was over 2 hours long. There were songs I liked but I can’t remember any of them because it’s rare for movies to even properly use 2 hours. I would totally be down for them redoing Images & Words until they hang it up. Just don’t try that poo poo again, please, my lovely old progfathers. tbh though Haken has become one of my favorite bands and they’re doing a wonderful job building on what Dream Theater did for years. Yeah Haken are amazing, they actually write songs and use the more unusual elements to actually achieve something instead of being wacky for the sake of it. The Ruins of Beverast is the only one man band I actually enjoy listening too. Dude creates the most immense songs, atmosphere I’ve yet to hear from another band. The sheer amount of people who just have to tell everyone about how they "don't think Ghost is that good, guys" is rather tiring. User reviews on "very serious" metal sites are by far the worst offenders. We get it. You don't like $POPULAR_BAND. Good for you.
