Question regarding Eri. Let's say it takes her 5 years to get her powers to a point where she can somewhat use them reliably. Just a random number.

It was mentioned Lemons could get his powers back if she gained full control, but in this scenario would she rewind him a full 5 years to just the point where he lost his powers (and giving him 5 more years of life in the process) or would it just be a poke and oop your fixed.

Was kind of wondering how that first scenario would play out really and if he'd accept being de-aged by years just to get his powers.

Overhaul used SCIENCE to make Eri's power just rewind DNA, so I think the implication is that if she gets find control she could just rewind the rewinding specifically for that part of his quirk DNA.

I always figured that if we got any filler movies the token movie character (almost always a girl) would be a timelord and the end would be them retconning the whole adventure out.

Or for maximum sadness something like a kid who was considered quirkless but their quirk is actually being able to exist as a tangible ghost after death or something.

Speaking of Eri, I realized two things:

1) Due to how her Quirk works, she could almost certainly restore All for One back to full power, if she ever managed to learn how to control it. (or if someone could forcibly take control of it...)
2) Shigaraki knows about Eri and her power.

I wouldn't be surprised if Eri was introduced specifically for that reason, because it is a pretty good way how to bring Afo back for the endgame.

I know he's a badguy, but would AfO even want that? It seems like he's genuinely invested in Shigaraki's growth as his successor.

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say, I'm not sure that's where -Horikoshi- wants the story to go.

All the talk about Endeavor got me thinking about how completely hosed quirk society is going to be in a couple generations.

We have two examples of quirks mixing to create ridiculously powerful monster-children in Todoroki and Bakugo. While Todoroki is the result of a hosed up attempt at eugenics, Bakugo got produced completely incidentally by two of the most silly and innocuous quirks(i can produce glycerin from my skin + my skin oil can explode but i can't control how much i produce). If Bakugo ever has a kid, what the hell is that going to produce? What if Momo fell in love and married some guy with a teleportation quirk? What happens when Eri grows up and decides to marry someone?

Like a century down the road you're going to be dealing with infants who can punch up with All For One.

That's the Quirk Singularity theory. It came up when Bakugo had to take remedial license exams.

Stuff like the Quirk Singularity theory make me think this series is going to somehow end with all quirks around the world being erased. I hope not though, cause that would be kind of a bummer.

my pet theory is the Quirk Singularity thing is Hoshikori looking everyone dead in the face and going "Man things'll be nuts if this is popular enough to go all the way to a Boruto-style sequel series, huh? Sure would be interesting. Hmm."

I mean, if you take things to their max power levels. You don't even have to stop there. Who's to say Eri can't rewind more than just things and people? Maybe she'll bring Nana and Nighteye back from the dead too.

In a much darker setting than MHA I could definitely see the government black bagging or eliminating people with excessively ridiculous quirks. Somebody like Momo could, as alluded to in the series itself, obliterate the international economy singlehandedly by crashing the market for literally anything. Somebody like Kurogiri makes physical security measures largely worthless. Somebody like Shinsou has, as stated in series, enormous potential for abuse and misuse.

Thankfully MHA is an optimistic shonen series.

People worried about Momo destabilizing the economy aren't thinking about the fact that she could manufacture some heavily restricted weapons with zero paper trail. I'm sure she could produce some key components for nuclear weapons too, given enough knowledge.

She could make plutonium, which requires a process to become radioactive and before it can be used for purposes in nuclear warheads.

Berkley university had a video on the subject, explaining in very layman terms how easy it is to make a nuclear bomb or reactor. It's so simple a child could accidentally make the plans for one and easy enough one guy could make a nuclear reactor in his refrigerator in his backyard.
