My guess is that she's reacting to purely human-caused extinction, from pollution and climate change, and she's decided to unleash the only beings she thinks are capable of stopping humanity's destruction of the world. If I had to guess, Rodan might be the villain of the first half of the movie, then the other shoe drops and Ghidorah wakes up - leading Mothra to emerge to help humanity and Godzilla.

I gasped out loud when Mothra spread her wings. She truly is beautiful. This trailer really feels very apocalyptic to me. I get the impression that The Battle of San Francisco is just a tiny baby level event compared to what these guys can and will do. Humans uh, aren't going to make out well in this by the end. God loving drat that trailer is the MOTHEREST of fuckers. Rodan is literally on fire and Ghidorah is like the most ominous thing I've ever seen holy poo poo. It's amazing how much more excited I feel for stuff like this than I do for like, anything else.

That trailer was incredible. Totally not what I was expecting. The plot device of a group of humans trying to revive the Kaiju to purify the planet is great, I'm surprised no one thought of it before.

Crazy twist: the girl from Stranger Things are the twins and we’ve seen them both in the trailer just never together. Also you see the same ship from Ghidora’s scene on Rodan while he’s on top of the volcano. Ghidorah is frigging massive.
