I just caught up on this season and I need to go read how the thread's felt about it but I've been pretty pleasantly surprised. I think this is the best Preacher has been? We've been wondering since the show was announced if/how they'd depict things like angelville and the allfather, and drat they just went all-out. Although they did get rid of the allfather pretty quick

The little animated drawings during the bus trip were adorable. Especially when the bus topples over, and the drawings are flying through the air along with everyone else. This show has a lot of cool visual effects like that.

I had been very frustrated with this season, for various reasons, but I gotta admit: the last two episodes have been a lot of fun. Looking forward to it next week instead of dreading it.

And then yeah, the diagrams tumbling with them was a great stylistic touch.

That kinda happens with AMC shows Walking Dead is notorious for not much happening. Probably a budget thing. I still find this show one of the most enjoyable shows on tv right now. It’s batshit and I love it for that reason. And just cause I find it funny Jesse used to be a king before he was a Preacher

Its especially bad because Ruth is his wife in warcraft and IRL too so now I can't not see him as King Llane and Jesse at the same time. He was baaaaad in warcraft but so was everybody not CG so I don't blame him.

I think they broke up in real life  Also yeah that movie was astonishingly awful. Seriously the most "human" characters were the CGI Orcs in those couple of moments where they're just hanging out chilling with each other.

Everybody who's seen it agrees the orcs were the best, most 'human' part of the film. But instead they tried to mix live action and CG and hoooo boy that just made everything worse. Also literally every single one of the humans was insufferably annoying except for maybe Lothar, who was just gruff. I absolutely couldn't stand either Medivh or Khadgar, awful awful casting on both counts. Also Khadgar in the story is a powerful wizard but they decided to turn him into like Sam/Merry/Pippin for laughs and it just really doesn't work. Poor Dominic Cooper looked so uncomfortable in the armor:  Its a good thing you don't see much of him, and what you do half is spent in normal king clothes

I feel like this season is the opposite of Season 2. S2 started strong, with a proper road-trip feel, but then ground to a halt as they settled down into the lovely New Orleans apartment. S3 started with some kinda boring episodes in the mansion, but then opened up and became way better. If they can keep up the quality improvement, this could be genuinely great.

I'm excited for the end of the Angelville arc. It's an important arc, narrative wise, for Jesse, but it's overstayed its importance and just feels at this point like wheels are spinning instead of plot moving forwards. That said - the characters are loving engaging as hell and I really can't complain too much because this season's been fantastic.

I had a really weird moment finding out Ruth Negga voiced the Emerald Herald in Dark Souls 2. I was like "why'd they get an American to do an Irish accent for this character?" only to find that actually, that's her real accent.

In fairness to Starr, that rainbow hat was taking the piss. He should've gone with a classy white or red piece so it coordinated better. Also the Saint is finally acting like himself again. We need another season.
