I know. This is the main reason why Guillermo Del Toro refused to have the military in the first Pacific Rim movie. He didn't want to make "military porn" like the Transformers movies; I'll always have respect for him after that.

Dogtooth and The Killing of a Sacred Deer are as good or better, Alps is meh. If he has any more I haven't seen them.

Killing of a Sacred Deer is so so so good. Like many of the best films of last year it's a teardown of the capitalist class structure and its hypocrisies, but shot like a Kubrickian horror film.

Dogtooth and Killing of a Sacred Deer both rule. I think the Lobster is my favorite out of the three since it's the funniest, but they're all pretty great. Haven't seen Alps yet, but I've also heard it's kind of meh.
