Principal Ridgeway and the other teacher chaperones line the walls of the prom. The music has returned to blasting and everyone is having a grand time. There are some cold looks as two girls who'd recently fought come within eyesight of each other, and an ex-couple makes brief awkward eye contact as they dance with their new dates, but generally people are having fun. There's a spread of some minor refreshments, including the punch bowl which is guarded heavily to prevent any mysterious liquids being added to the fruit juice and sparkling water. However, it's one of the hor d'oeuvres that seems to be a problem, as Lisa Bell spits out a mouthful of deviled egg. She looks like she's going to be sick and moments later she proves that right by throwing up all over the floor. With all the activity, only those nearest notice the commotion though. The teacher examines the plate of food and discovers that indeed, there appears to be something off about the eggs. The normally yellow center has been replaced with a pale green and the teacher realizes that the poor girl had eaten an entire egg sized pile of wasabi. They quickly gather up the plate of food and rush back to the kitchen before any other students get sick. Principal Ridgeway looks around the room at the crowd that's watched the girl's reaction, trying to find a guilty face in the crowd, but he only sees looks of shock and disgust. Eventually he picks up Lisa and helps escort her out of the prom, leaving the other chaperones to clean up the mess she left behind. Near the back of the room, another prom goer hastily hides an empty tube of wasabi in one of the table centrepieces and breaths a sigh of relief. Somberbrero, Lisa Bell, Town-aligned Gossip has been ejected from the prom D1. Congrats, everyone was over the lurker threshold, although some people only barely. We can do better! It is now Night 1. Actions please in 24 hours max. If you have an action and are withholding please also let me know.

With the mess Lisa made cleaned up, the prom is back in full swing. Barely anyone noticed the interruption, and not many noticed Lisa's absence. The room is covered in a soft glow as strings of hundreds of twinkling lights crisscross the ceiling. It is perfect mood lighting for romance. However, there is suddenly a crackle of electricity as several strings of lights begin to glow much brighter, illuminating a corner of the room in a blinding light before popping and cracking with a horrible noise that causes many prom goers to scream! In the commotion, an unknown attendee drops a pair of electrical pliers at the feet of Virginia Morgan. She reaches down to pick up them and looks around the room for who dropped them, however her gaze lands on Principal Ridgeway who stares at the tool before ordering the other chaperones to escort Virginia out of the hall. She attempts to protest that someone else did it, she had only found them, but nobody is interested in listening. The chaperones attempt to caution students away from the now dark corner, but instead the excitement and then privacy of darkness has quickly turned it into the perfect place to go for a little smooching. peramene, Virginia Morgan, town-aligned JOAT has been ejected from the prom N1. It is now D2.

Why

Bif is in an unconfirmed masonry with me. I'm town which means that if this game is lots of people in unconfirmed masonries of two then there is a high chance (40-60%), assuming a scum team size of 3-4, that she's scum. Additionally when I woke up to the hammer landing on somber who I was convinced was town, she didn't really justify her hammer beyond not knowing that AI was coming back. Even in an unconfirmed masonry I'd have expected her to volunteer more.

Why were you convinced Somber was town? Convinced is a pretty strong word.

Your Personal Muse posted:Why were you convinced Somber was town? Convinced is a pretty strong word. Because I went to bed prior to around 156 posts or so and as I read the argumentation to the flip I felt that it was more and more flimsy, especially given he wasn't able to defend himself at all. Broadly it wasn't Somber's words so much as the push on him that I felt was genuinely scum led.

He sure didn't say he wanted to vote Hum instead. I hammered after he showed up showing no intention of doing anything reasonable in the next five minutes. And like hell I should get killed off on N1 just for the odds instead of an actual read

Your Personal Muse posted:Did you guys discuss anything at night? a bit, I did like his theory that there were likely to be a fair few scum/town pairs, and I thought in hindsight it was scummy that whoever Somber's partner was never weighed in to comment on his mason activity to help us judge him better as a lunch candidate. But I couldn't see any hint of who that might be. I wondered if he didn't have a partner, since a "gossip" role might be some message thing good for someone not in a masonry. Nat mostly said the Somber lunch was horrible cause Somber was fine, which I don't agree was an obvious conclusion at the time.

Your Personal Muse posted:Wasn’t Bif trying to murder Hum? Who do you think was scum on the Somber train? Bif flipped off of Humalong at the end of the night. She's correct in that she didn't have much time left, but reluctant player flipping just in time is usually pretty good cover. Again, a lot of this lies in basic probability and game assumptions alongisde the knowledge that scum Bif is tremendously dangerous to me personally because it's rare that I ever disagree with her and I'll subconsciously want to believe what she tells me.

To add to this, I suspect it's Hal/Humalong/two others. Humalong because of argumentation yesterday that I buy and Hal because this: Hal Incandenza posted:Would you vote somber? It's the first trigger on the somber switch which happens later. To me it's earlygame scum Hal in that it's just a slight nudge to other more chatty posters to push after someone.
