I'm not sure what's sadder, Kadokawa doing this or Tatsuki being unwilling to this point to raise a stink about it presumably because "Japanese work culture" compelled him not to.

Good for him though if he's now being compelled to take action to protect his own rights. I can't imagine it would be easy to do that against such a large corporation.

I interpreted it as him not getting paid for the first season, if he's talking about the second I can see Kadokawa arguing that the payments he already received was also for the second season scripts.

Sounds like being a lawyer in Japan is a waste of time if nobody ever sues.

This is kinda amazing to see the models side by side, and to see what a huge impact the last layer of shading will do for the final product.

Also it looks like Season 2 is completely overlooking the "shine in eye for existing species, dull eye for extinct species" nuance.

If you told me that was someone's fan art piece, I'd believe you. Hopefully it looks better in motion than it does in still. I do like how they're bringing in Caracal, though, as a possible nod to the manga.
