I do think McGregor is a killer at FW but just a top 5 guy at LW. I never said he wasn’t elite, but rather that he’d just hang with the top guys at LW rather than just crush them.

The best display of McGregor’s grappling was against Max Holloway when he wrestled him to a decision after tearing his ACL in the first. He’s not a bad grappler, but he’s not even on the level of standard NCAA wrestlers. There is a monstrous gulf in the grappling game of McGregor and Nurmagomedov. Saying that doesn’t mean I’m saying Conor isn’t one of the best in the world. He just doesn’t have the chops to roll with the actual best.

i don't really agree with your overall premise. it's not like either of them has fought anyone who resembles their opponent. i don't think anyone knows how this fight is really gonna go. maybe it's gonna look like ronda vs. holm. maybe it's gonna look like when gsp mashed up serra in the rematch.

This derail is stupid.

What type of IT training do you guys think that Conor has? Web design? Tech support? Database admin?

I don't remember the last time I saw a fighter shivering like this at a weigh in, she couldn't even get back on the scale to pose.

You probably shouldn't be allowed to keep cutting weight if you're drained to the point where putting your sports bra and panties back on and then standing still is too hard for you.

Of course, that'd also mean going up to Cyborgweight where you fight Cyborg and then get cut and no longer have any semblance of a career so I guess there's no good solution here.

Khabib has fought rangy south paws. McGregor has never fought anyone like Khabib. There’s nothing special about McGregor’s striking. There is with Khabib’s grappling, though.

There's nothing special about the guy who knocked out aldo and Alvarez like it was child's play? Alvarez still hasn't been knocked out since or really made to look like that at all and he's been in hell wars. I'm far from a Conor dick rider but this is revisonist

I agree. Saying khabib has fought a rangy southpaw is like saying conor has defended take downs.

It's a new level of danger for them both.

For what it's worth she was interviewed shortly after the weigh in and said she was feeling better and would be fine tomorrow, although she wouldn't likely admit that she was in bad shape a day before a fight anyway. She's pretty buff and has always struggled to make this weight. I think she's in a weird spot where she's too big for 135 but too small for 145, but has to persist with cutting to bantamweight because there's just nothing there at featherweight.

She's not too big for 135. She was 146lbs on Monday and she used to cut down to 125.
She's gotten bigger on her strength and conditioning program and there's no way she could make 125 anymore, but she's a healthy 135.
She's working with George Lockhart and she's with a new meal prep company for athletes. She'll be fine tomorrow.

Conor is a hell of a fighter. I'm not saying that he isn't. But he also went 1-1 with Nate Diaz with Nate beating the gently caress out of him in the first and took two rounds in the rematch. Nate is far from the best LW in the world.

His KO of Aldo was nuts. I don't think anyone will ever say anything different. He exploited Eddie Alvarez's bad tendencies and knocked him out just like he did to tons of people before at 10 lbs lighter. He's just not anything above the rest of the pack in terms of his striking game like Khabib is above everyone else at grappling. Conor is a top 5 LW, but he's not the best striker in the division.

The UFC has shown time and time again they want certain people to be champa and they get rematches they don't deserve because of that
